In Mexico City on September 4th thousands of sea turtles came out of the ocean the lay their eggs. Tourist were not being respectful of the turtles by taking pictures and posing their children on top of the turtle's backs which made them return to the sea. Yamileth Baltodano, a tour guide who was at the scene said, “It was a mess”. The nesting season is from August through October, which is Costa Rica's rainy season, usually provides a natural border to help protect the turtles. Through this time the beach is cut off by the flood tide of the swollen Nosara River. This year was different due to the low rainfall caused by El Nino left the river dry, making access to the beach super simple. Officials are working to make changes before the next
expected arrival, October 4th.They are hoping to double security and even bring in the Coastal Guard. Groups will only be permitted in with a guide and have limited to the edges of the nesting area. Karla Homolka is a prime example of a person who has committed a violent crime. The story of who Karla Homolka is and what she had done is very well known, not just in Canada but all over North America. After hearing the story of what her and Paul Bernardo did many people would wonder why, why and how could two people commit such violent acts. There are many theories that criminologists could use to try and explain the reasoning behind the actions of Karla Homolka, one would like to believe that there are reasons and not just that she was an evil person.
The animals in Costa Rica live in a hot place so they can stay warm sense reptiles need to stay warm because reptiles and cold blooded. Most of the animals that living in Washington are warm blooded for the cold winters and falls so they don't die from lack of heat. But, those that are cold go underground into hibernation because of the heat and the lack of food. The animals of Costa Rica don't have to do that because it is always warm out. Most animals live close to some source of water because if some animal is not hydrated they become weak and get killed or die. The food for most animals are by the water or in the water so, the predators become the hunted by larger and more dangerous. Most of the animals in Washington don't all stay by the closest water source, some get their water from underground, others get the water they need from plants. Costa Rica is covered in huge jungles. Reminding me of the movie Tarzan, the jungles are full of monkeys, macaws, and many other curious creatures. Another interesting thing about Costa Rica was the beach. On the pacific side of the country, the sand is muddy and black. Even though the dark sand made the ocean look dirty, it made the white sea shells shine exceedingly bright. One of the scariest parts about Costa Rica was the reptiles. It seems that every river was full of enormous crocodiles. Although the lush, green jungle was a beautiful sight to see, Bonaire had even prettier views. Since it is located in the Caribbean, the island of Bonaire is surrounded by the most gorgeous turquoise water. The ocean was definitely the prettiest part of the island. The main terrain of Bonaire is desert. Unlike Costa Rica, there are hardly any trees. The island is covered in rocks and cactus. Because of the lack of vegetation, there were very few animals that thrive. For example, donkeys and finches were some of the only animals I saw on the island. Just like Costa Rica, Bonaire has a reptile problem. Thankfully, the reptiles in Bonaire were much nicer. Iguanas ruled the island. They were everywhere. After vacationing in Costa Rica and Bonaire, I realized that both have extraordinary
My name is Zofia Yamaika. I was born into a prominent Jewish family in Warsaw, Poland. I was an average Jewish girl that had everything, a nice house, family, and education. Later, once I was a teenager, I joined a communist club called Spartacus and stayed in it, until Germany banned it. Then, when things couldn't get worse, they did; Warsaw, Poland surrendered to germany. After this, I stopped going to school; I knew my life was
The Yamabushi are a type of Japanese goblin, most commonly in the form of ascetic monks who live high in the mountains in seclusion. They are very powerful warriors with magical powers. Whether we were born in Africa, or our ancestors originated in such a peaceful place, all of us have some connection to the developing continent. As time has passed, it has become more and more clear that the start of the earth’s population, originated in the heart of Africa. Through the harsh conditions, several species survived and began to spread to various other parts of the continent, and the rest of the world. From six species to three, moving across the country is what allowed our people to expand knowledge, technology and even just adapt to new climates. Being in a warmer environment, closer to the sun, it is necessary for the skin to absorb more sun rays, thus making and keeping the skin a darker color/shade. As time progresses and
Loggerhead turtles are becoming endangered more and more often. Not many people understand the dangers that these turtles are in, especially when the females are nesting. Nesting takes an important role in the lives of these turtles and is an amazing process that occurs during the season. Unfortunately, many factors disturb the process of these hatching eggs. This paper explains these factors in depth to educate the audience about the dangers involved in loggerhead nesting. Light pollution, natural disasters, and predators are described and explained as to why they affect the process of nesting. Many organizations are trying to share their knowledge on these loggerhead-nesting dangers with people and are trying to help keep the loggerheads alive.

If sea turtles were going extinct because of geological or climatic changes, there would be very little we could do to help.
