When something gives us energy, it means more than to just give us the required power to work or move along for such a specific task. In biological terms, it means to have your energy be transported through your body and placed by cells into biomolecules. Biomolecules such as lipids and carbohydrates. It then stores that energy in our body.
Drinks that do not have a metabolic energy source can give off increased energy by adding other factors to it. For example, caffeine may give the perception of energy being increased if you add sugar to it. That sugar is absorbed by the blood and breaks down the bonds of glucose, going through cellular respiration process. This helps the releasing of energy to the body, helping drinks that contain no metabolic energy sources.

These vitamins would be helpful to a person who exhausts energy, such as a runner or a swimmer because B Vitamins turn our food intake into glucose which gives us energy we need. The 5-hour Energy drink is a drink that catches young adults and teens. By targeting the audience this ad/commerical catches the eyes because of the shot lables of how fast this product works and how is to be taken, and why have a good energy boost within 5 hours and the good idea of the amount of calories within this product.
My hypothesis for this experiment was that the sports drinks would be the substance with more electrolytes, in particular the Maximus sports drink as other people who have conducted experiments of sports drink have found Maximus to have more electrolytes to other sport drink brands such as PowerAde
That’s when a spark lit and I started asking questions such as, “What benefits do sports drink have over water or juices?”, “What exactly electrolytes are and how many are in sports drinks?” As a curious 12 year old, I started researching on sports drinks. I discovered electrolytes include potassium, sodium, calcium, and other elements too. As a person perspires he/she loses water and electrolytes in the body. Loss of electrolytes can lead to heat exhaustion, nausea, and other conditions. I continued my research.
By this definition, and after knowing the effects of caffeine upon the human body, I have come to the conclusion that drinking caffeine is a sign of a lack of respect for oneself, and of an unappreciative attitude toward the life that each of us has been blessed with. Furthermore, it shows of either our inability, or unwillingness to learn to think clearly.
