When I learned that one individual can only do so much while a group of passionate individuals can even move mountains, I took on the role of a shift leader to moderate volunteers and joined the emergency department to study a new environment the hospital offer. During that time, I trained numerous volunteers and assisted countless staffs in saving lives at an effective rate with quality services. Many volunteers I trained are continuing their ardent determination to thrive in the small volunteer room alongside with zealous
Women of Delta, especially the ladies of the Alpha Tau Chapter, excel excessively in everything they accomplish and partake in from what I have seen on Southern Universities campus and in the community. Their outstanding work ethics, academics success, social friendliness, dominating attitudes, and constant need to help others is just a few explanations why I would be honored to be a lovely member of ...
We have to truly take initiative in order to express our ideas regarding our feminist movement. We must take all our concerns in order to foster personal liberation and growth. The archaic social, psychological, and economic practices that discriminate against women must be ordeals of the past. We must compose new practices in order to develop a post-revolutionary society. This movement will require strategy, organization, commitment, and devotion; it may be a long battle, but I believe that we will end in triumph.
This essay is just a brief summary of why I desire to be an Alpha man and the contributions I will bring to Alpha Phi Alpha. As previously stated my fully expounded upon desires would greatly exceed the limits of this essay, so if I had K.I.S.S it into just three words, I would choose; learn, grow, and share. However, I am strong believer of deeds over words, so this essay will serve only as mental fodder and the main course will come in the form of my actions.
To be a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is to be resilient, poise, and gracious. To be a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is to be an inspiration to others through your actions. To be a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is to be of service to all mankind.
...was also heavily involved with the community. My intern group was involved in at least two volunteering events per month on average. We spent time volunteering our time with Feed My Starving Children, KPMG Family for Literacy (a KPMG sponsored volunteering effort to help kids struggling to read), and Habitat for Humanity.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you about my interest in becoming a member of The Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I sought out membership because the members exemplify the epitome of class, grace, and standards. My desire is to inspire young girls and women and make a significant impact on their lives is just one of many reasons I aspire to join your great sorority. I believe in being of service, giving back to the community, and I want to continue on for years to come. Going into the transition into my college career from my freshman year until now, I have encountered many women in the organization that are very active on campus as well as in the community. My past experiences with my past and previous organizations have proved that once my feet are planted my roots will grow and I will stand firm in an organization or committee that I am apart of exemplifying my leadership skills. I am a dedicated member of the National Council of Negro Women. I am on the Bethune Committee, we focus on creating Health programs for the organization and the community. I am a Mentor with the Valdosta community organization G.O.L.F.E.R. (Generating Opportunities in Life for Each

Our programs including Diversity Works, the We Care Initiative, the Verde Project, NextStep and RAV (Recruit a Veteran) help support this mission. Just as we support each other in the office, we wanted to extend this involvement and commitment to the business community and the community at large, with volunteerism, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, scholarship and civic
The current organizational culture at CNCS serves to advance the mission and vision of the organization in addressing a variety of needs within the society. Equal opportunity is a concern for everyone, from the volunteers to the beneficiaries in society (Eisner & Grimm Jr et al., 2009). The culture of appreciating diversity and equality at CNCS leads to efficiency in executing different programs aimed at community development. This organizational culture helps to address some of the challenges faced by CNCS such as willingness of volunteers by making them feel included in the noble cause of championing equality and human rights.
I had always thought about what it would be like to be a Kappa Field Representative: jet-setting around the country, meeting new people and seeing new places. While it is a lot of that, just maybe less glamourous, this job is so much more. In this role, every day is different and each chapter offers a unique group of women. In just a few short months, it’s become a part of me.
Volunteerism, civic engagement and advocacy are the driving forces for creating change and making a positive impact in your community and society at large. While gaining internship and job experience can lead to community impact and social change, it’s important for us to remember that before we start advocating for change and informing others about issues we care about, we need to fully understand the complexity and depth of the social, environmental, or economic issue we are passionate about.
Volunteering enables a person to develop new skills that he or she would otherwise not have been able to develop. Unlike most other organizations, a charitable organization is happy to give positions to passionate, though inexperienced, individuals who desire to help others and benefit the community. Therefore, an individual with little experience in a field of work can gain meaningful skills that he or she can use in the future. For example, while I volunteered at the hospital this summer, I learned about the daily work lives and professional duties of doctors and nurses. Had I not volunteered, I would not have learned about these things. I was always interested in the medical field, but volunteering at the hospital let me explore my interests and en...
Meanwhile, I still volunteered as an ESL tutor with the resettlement agency and began to apply to be a Peace Corps Volunteer, a lifelong goal of mine. My career prospects changed in the year 2012, when I decided to accept my Peace Corps invitation to serve as a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) volunteer in the Republic of Georgia.
