Many are those who understand the church as a building. It is not the biblical understanding of the church. The word church comes from the Greek “Ecclesia “which means “assembly" or " those who are called out." The deeper meaning of "church" is not a building, but people. Ironically, if you ask someone what church he attends, he will answer Baptist, Methodist, catholic or another denomination. People often refer to a building or a denomination. Read Romans 16:5: “Greet also the church that meets in their home. “. Paul refers to the church that meets in a home, not a building, but a group of believers.

The Church is the Body of Christ. Ephesians 1:22-23 says, “Yes, he has put all things under his feet and he gave at the top of all, to head the Church which is his body, the fullness of Him who fills him even completely. “. The Body of Christ is composed of all believers from Pentecost to the Rapture of the end of time.

The notion of Catholic Church is present in most Christian denominations: Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Anglican particular. The word "catholic" comes from the Greek meaning καθολικός "universal." The term began to be used to describe the Church in the early second century. It is also found in the Nicene - Constantinople in 381 adopted and proclaimed: “I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic." This profession of faith which is the symbol of the greatest apostles of the early Church has for centuries been the credo of all liturgies, so that Christians of all churches, even when the start time of sectarian divisions, declare believe in the Catholic Church, regardless of their religion is or is not explicitly designated as "Catholic" in common usage or in official texts. According to Catholic teaching, the Church comes not only limited autonomy in the state, but also a sovereign in his own domain. Peaceful separation of state and cooperation on an equal footing with him can best match the theological nature of the Church.
