Cursive is now vading away with time. Technology is becoming such a big trend, its even taking over classrooms. I think its better to type out notes rather than write them. Also, everything is done on computers like classroom lessions and job applacations. The only thing we can do is keep up to speed on how things are done this day and age.
Typing notes instead of writing them out is better. Most people like myself can type a lot faster than they can write. This way when your taking notes, you dont miss anything the teacher has said. Also when you type notes you mostly like wont miss spell word because of your autocorrect.
Today most classes now require you to have a ipad or laptop. Also, in most classes you have to have enternet for research
or just to follow along with the class. Some students don't even get there homework in class, they get there homework online or through an email from there teacher. Even your teachers do everything on the computer, they make PowerPoints for class lessions. They even email students to give homework or help on a subject. Now technology is getting easier to use by the day. So in turn we should go with the flow and use the tools that matches our time. Now, if it wasn't faster and easier to type I would have a different perspective but, I find it to be a good thing that we are turn a new leaf and finding a great way to teach out students. With students already use to working with technology, it only makes sence to stick to what they are use to. Now and days kids are starting to use technology at such a young age that they are already so fimiliar with typing. I would like to students wit typing skills seeing how almost everything is done on a computer, and if its not done on a computer now it will be every soon.
In the article, “Attention, Students: Put Your Laptops Away,” the writer tells the reader differences between taking notes with a laptop or taking them in a notebook. When taking notes with a laptop people have the tendency to write down everything word for word while others cannot help but click a new tab and get on social media. Taking notes word for word has been proven that you do not comprehend what you are writing down. "When people type their notes, they have this tendency to try to take verbatim notes and write down as much of the lecture as they can," Mueller tells NPR's Rachel Martin. After reading the article my opinion is writing notes in a notebook is more beneficial than taking them on a laptop. If I want to excel in school and
As was previously stated, The Handwriting Debate reveals that handwriting helps students retain memory more effectively than keyboarding. One study by Virginia Berninger, a professor of educational psychology at the University of Washington, compared students who took notes by hand versus classmates who took n...
Cursive should not be taught in schools! Schools don’t need cursive. There are other things that kids could be doing in class. Read my next paragraph to find out what and why.
... I’d rather have paper to write down and make my own citations and marks depending on the subject, but if I’m reading a novel, then using a tablet is great, and I’m able to carry as many books as I need. It’s amazing how technology has shaped our educational system over the years and especially in the last 10 years. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before we arrived at this crossroad. It still remains to be seen how this path will be navigated and implemented fully, but I’m excited to be on the journey.
In conclusion, Cursive writing is very well out dated. We use technology now more than ever. Maybe a new common core standard should be computer skills. As cursive writing holds no benefits to students. The truth comes out, cursive writing has essentially disapeared. So why ever bring it

Most of the new technological devices and software’s are changing four year college environment. All my years in school, I have struggled with taking notes. It was always a problem for me because I never knew the right and most effective way to take notes. From taking this course, it has shown that there are many ways to take effective notes.
I have come to understand that to get better, you have to work harder. In the article “Attention, Students: Put Your Laptops Away”, the author James Doubek expresses the differences between writing down notes and typing them on a laptop or tablet. Doubek says students using laptops tend to “take verbatim notes”(2) and “write down as much of the lecture”(2) these students write down anything the professor says instead of
As a student in the modern era, where technology is at an all-time high everywhere I look technology is being introduced into a teachers curriculum. Technology in school although once banned it is now being praised to have technology intertwined with a school lesson. Everywhere I look people are giving up old habits such as keeping a planner because your phone now offers a new way to be organized in an easier and faster manner. One habit that students are giving up with this technological surge is taking notes by hand. Personally, I have at one point tried to take notes on my laptop or even studying pre-written notes, I found myself distracted with such easy access to the internet. Consequently, I found my grades have become lower due to me
...assroom. Sometimes there are people that it would not help learn because they need that face-to-face learning. It is just the way that they learn that it could benefit them or it could not . It should be up to the students on it they want to use the old fashion pen and paper or this new technology.
Over the past few years technology has taken on a whole new meaning. We have moved from the days of chalkboards, to whiteboards, to interactive whiteboards. Our students seem to be more computer savvy than their teachers. Home telephones are starting to become a thing of the past, and cell phones have turned into mini-computers. Technological geniuses have even tried to eliminate books by creating electronic books, for example the Kindle and Nook. It has become pretty evident that being technologically smart is a necessity in today's world.
student will be able to maintain focus for much longer. Computers also enable students to learn
Word processors have been in use in our country and across the globe for quite some time. Elementary school students, High school Students, as well as College and University students all use them everyday to produce written texts from many different genres. Pens and paper have been forgotten. Has the formal process of writing also been forgotten? Have word processors changed the way people write – permanently (I misspelled that word and fixed it using spell check)?
As time goes by, advances in technology will provide more and more avenues for learning by way of the computer. The Internet has opened the doors of the world and unleashed limitless possibilities in research and education. It may be only a matter of time when the classroom is brought online to all children and attending a school classroom outside the home is a thing of the past. Looking back over the last 20 years, I never would have imagined that computers would come this far and impact our lives so much. Just imagine where they will be 20 years from now.
Almost everyone uses a computer these days due to how vital they are in some everyday tasks these days. College students take distance classes which require a computer due to the teacher not
