Writing can be a very personal form of communication. I believe writing is a very interesting and enjoyable skill to have for the future. When I think of my relationship with writing, I realize that I enjoy writing, but I have a hard time being thoughtful/deep in my topics and writing based on experiences I have had. However, being able to be a stronger and more confident writer is something I am interested in.
I have always enjoyed writing. Ever since elementary school, I have never been much of a reader, so in my English classes I have always enjoyed being able to write. Writing about topics that interest me has always been my favorite task to complete in my English classes. One of my favorite and most memorable assignments in middle school
was being able to pick a free choice project, which we later got to learn and write about. When I think of myself personally as a writer, I think I am average writer. However, I can definitely improve on my writing skills. Based on my grammar, use of words, and formatting I think I can improve greatly this semester. I am a pretty organized person when it comes to assignments and school. When it comes to writing and I like to have everything planned out and have all my information ready ahead of time. I started to realize I liked writing in 5th grade when we learned how to make an outline of a paper we were writing. Now I tend to still try to have an outline in my head before writing so I know what I am talking about and what I am going to say. I enjoy creating a rough draft for an assignment and then editing from there, whether it is just myself editing or a peer edits. I personally sometimes stray away from editing all my papers deeply, but I think I should try more to edit my paper. As it can strengthen my writing greatly. I feel more confident in my work if I have had somebody else read it before turning it in. One thing I tend to struggle with when writing is thinking deeper into the topic I am writing about. I am writing about a complex topic, I have a hard time grasping what I need in order to understand and write about that topic. I like to be given the information I need in order to write about the topic, or at least given the tools to find the correct information. When it comes to finding a deeper meaning into materials I tend to have a hard time. It takes me longer, I think, to understand a topic that is new to me. However, if I have the tools and or materials to understand it, it helps me greatly. It makes me feel accomplished when I am able to understand a complicated piece of writing. Lastly, there are not many topics I do not like writing about. If know what I am talking about and am confident in my materials, I enjoy all types of writing. However, when it comes to writing about life changing or personal experiences I have had, I always seem to have a hard time gathering a thought. There are not many experiences in my life that I believe have changed my life in a drastic measure, and because it is a common topic to write about I find myself always struggling with those types of writing. Not to mention they are some of the most time consuming essays to write. When I struggle on a topic I tend to repeat myself and string thoughts together that almost don't go together. In conclusion, I am excited to continue my writing in this class. I hope to work on my weaknesses and gain better skills. I would love to improve my writing because overall, I really like writing.
Writing is a type of art because it requires you to think and be creative in the way you want it to be. I have a diary that I wrote almost everyday. They help me think about my day and sometimes turn my bad day into a good day. I write whatever comes into my head at that moment, and reflect on my day. Writing make me think deeper to what happen and help me turn my negative thought to positive. Writing is a very powerful tool. When I write, I have the power to change the story. I am the author of my own story so I can be as creative as I want.
From our very first narrative, “My Writing Story” to the most recent opinion editorial assignment, I can honestly say I enjoyed writing each paper. But, my favorite writing assignment
Thanks again Mr. Seipp for the time you spent with today out of your busy schedule and for all the support you provided.
For my journal entry this week, I will continue to explore my feelings towards the situation that happen last week with my client. After her sister mentioned her parent, my client ran crying to her room. This week, I meet with this client again, the only difference was that I was alone. I thought it was best for me to address what had happened. I told the client that I want her to feel comfortable to the team. This would mean for trigger topics like her parents, to come up in a way that she is comfortable. I told her that we would not talk about that topic until she is ready to talk about it. While when I started talking about it, the client was very quiet. It was almost as if she was about to cry, however she did not. Instead she said that
Communication is something we do without thinking as it comes naturally. As babies we communicate through sign language. Our hands go out to pick a baby up, the baby soon learns that this language of communication gets results. Crying is another form of attention. As babies age they also learn to talk. They soon learn that saying the correct words along with body language, gets them what they want. Communicating with people I find is my strongest asset and using verbal and nonverbal communication can be testing, but beneficial used in the correct way.
I keep other people at a distance, both physically and emotionally and thus limit my interactions with other people in all facets of my life. This has shaped my communication style as well as my personality or as the textbook defines it as “An individual 's characteristic way of thinking, feeling, and acting based on the traits he or she possesses.” (McCornack pg.90) This social anxiety colors my ideas about myself as well as my perception of others, which is the (p. 75) “The process of selecting, organizing, and interpreting information from our senses,” (McCornack pg.75) This leads to Self Fulfilling prophecies concerning judgements I make about people, or “Predictions about future encounters that lead us to behave in ways that ensure the interaction unfolds as we predicted.” (McCornack pg.41) which in turn fuels misunderstandings and greater social anxiety.

Now for why I write. I rarely write for fun, which probably should change for the better, but that is not unlike many. Like many I write, when I have to write for school or any other academic activity. Writing interest for these assignments only go as deep as the material for the or the assignment itself actually goes. If the topic is interesting I will be much more excited to write about
Writing for me has always been a love and hate relationship since I could remember. Depending on the subject matter that I was writing about I would enjoy it because it suited my style or I loathed it because that specific style was uninteresting and boring to me. Learning certain writing formats were absolutely the worst part about writing when I first started learning in high school. As time pushed on and I grew older I began to develop an appreciation for writing that I did not have before; which is what led me to taking Writing 101 as my first full-fledged college course. I began this course with minimal writing experience because of what I failed to retain before, but now I am a stronger writer than I could have imagined with new skill sets that enhance my professional portfolio.
Lots of people thinks that they know themselves very well; they have a right way of communication, they know how to listen and respond to others, even emotional intelligence. Is this what you thought? I did. However after I have done my observe behavior interview to my friends, I believe that self-reflection is important to everyone to understand and improve our own communication styles.
A mentally disabled but diligent female high school student attends a tutoring session at the learning center to work on a classroom writing assignment. Despite encouragement and prompts from the tutor, the student is unable to write. She states that she hates writing and declares that she will take a zero for the grade rather than complete the assignment.
Dear: Amanda and Kyle, First I would like to congratulate you both on your recent engagement! I am so thrilled that you are asking for advice on all the valuable information that I am learning in my Interpersonal Communication course. When I think of communication, I think of it as the foundation that a marriage and any relationships are built upon. With communication, we are determined whether the relationship will be long lasting or the relationship will in. This is a skill that no one is perfect at, but if everyone learns the beneficial ways to communicate more effectively, which is the key to a life-long and happy marriage.
Dear Alex, Congratulations on your recent engagement. This is a wonderful time in life to celebrate love and new beginnings. I know I’m divorced and you’re probably thinking I don’t have the room to talk right now about advice on a successful relationship, but, just hear me out on this because failure is a massive part of being successful, that’s where are the lessons are learned. So, take what I say with a grain of salt as I can assure you I am the perfect fit for this due to my studies in my Interpersonal Communications course.
I enjoy writing very much. My writing topics and style tend to match my eclecticity, though I enjoy the role of an essayist-poet most of all. I have written many instructional articles, though I have lately stayed away from them due to my over-exercise of that area of writing. I enjoy poetry, and while few poets ever put bread on the table and write substantial amounts of poetry, I am not motivated by anything primarily for money and find poetry an expressive way to communicate things that prose is unable to.
Writing is a vital part of life. Before the creation of written language human communication was limited to verbal, in-person conversations. Everything changed when writing allowed thoughts and ideas to travel farther and more efficient than ever before. Writing is a talent that we learn at an early age and only hone as we proceed through our academic careers. This being the case, as with any talent every writer has strengths and weaknesses. My personal writing strengths include an adept use of vocabulary and apt understanding of grammatical techniques. In contrast, my weaknesses consist of flaws in organization and staying focused on one thesis throughout a piece. Although numbers are the main focus as a business major, without the ability
