Would having a higher income benefit people in the long term? Yes, people would agree that having a higher income would benefit them in the long term. Many people would benefit from going to college; however, a lot of people are opposed to this opinion. People should go to college because it would earn the benefit of a degree, earn the benefit of extra income, and earn the benefit of attracting potential employers. Frist, earning a degree may be long and tedious work, but in the long run it is well worth it. Earning a degree is one of the many benefits of going to college. There are many degrees like Education, Criminal Justice and Nursing degrees. Earning a Education degree can give one the knowledge of the field of teaching and will help one mold the mind of the kids and youth of today. Earning an Criminal Justice degree can give one the knowledge of the of the laws and regulations that every officer must learn. How we may ask? Many students see that going to college is a waste of time, but when people finish college people have that degree that will help someone earn extra income towards maybe a house. Most people are renting a house or an apartment. There may come a time that a person wants to buy a house that he can call his own and not say, ‘Oh, I need to pay rent!” He would be putting that money to a mortgage and towards a house of his own. Another way is that he could get some vacation time, maybe there is somewhere he always wanted to go maybe a cruise that he always wanted to go on? A degree is just a material payoff for the hard work and effort put in overtime at college. The true payoff is this idea to learn to think, to be able to control what we see and how we feel and what we derive from it. We must stay aware of our daily surroundings and not just focus on the ME, ME, ME but also consider other people and how we may be effecting them. Wallace reminds us that it is a struggle to stay conscious and alive, but if we do so we are exercising our freedom of knowledge. That is the true meaning of an education, simply being aware.
College. Educational benefits that can help a person succeed in the vast majority of life’s careers. When I think of college, I think of hard work. I think of the dedication it takes to achieve a universal goal. Graduate with a degree that will further help to apply for a desired job.
