Buddhists believe that the Buddha was a great teacher and an enlightened being. They follow his teachings and respect him but since he is not a god they do not worship him, Buddhists do not believe in any god. Worshipping is not a part of Buddhism. The only kind of worshipping they take part in is because they respect someone. Buddhists do not bow or pray to a statue but to Dharma. Dharma is the law of nature. They also do not try to ask him for favours or hope that he will grant their wishes but they try to follow in his footsteps. Images of the Buddha aren’t anything more than a symbolic picture. Buddhists do however recite some verses from the life of the Buddha’s life. Buddhists can worship either at home or at a temple. It is not essential
