World War 1 Rough Day Essay

Hey guys, today marked a really rough day in history for the past, present, and future. It is when World War 1 started. It is July 28, 1914. It was a rough day because it is when Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and Ottoman Empire fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan, and the United States. They went in to fight for political, economic, and social impact the Great War had on the United States. Some things that increased during the Great War was manufacturing, production, and efficiency.
It has almost been a month since WWI started and it is miserable. It is the most horrific thing in history.
It has been almost 5 months since it started and it is December 25, 1914. So Merry Christmas. Even though it is Christmas and a good day, the war is getting worse.

It has been a couple of years now and it has been really rough.

I wrote to my dad today and I am positive he won’t write back because the war is so bad. I told him that “we all miss you and we can’t wait until you and Chris get back because there is so much to tell you and him.” A few months past and he finally wrote back. He said “I would find a way to write back to you no matter what. It is so good writing back to you and can’t wait to see you, I have missed you and the family. It will be a few more months until we are headed back to the states, but we are slowly packing right now.” I then showed my aunt and she started crying. She said “I just can’t wait either, I miss both of them so

much.”
It has been four years since the war had started, and I am so glad that it is almost over. A few days ago my mom, who is an officer, went in for a call and never came back, and the chief came to our house and said that my mom has been shot. My dad and uncle wrote back and said “we are packing more now and it will only be one or two months before we are back.” My aunt and I were so excited, we were jumping on the couches. I wrote back once we were done jumping and I said “that is so exciting, Abby and I can’t wait. We were just jumping on the couches when we read your letter, that’s how excited we were. There are also some very important, sad stories that I am going to tell you when you get back.”
It is now November 11, 1918, and there is this knock on the front door. My aunt and I were very scared to open it because the last knock was four years ago when Chris and Abby came and told us that there might be a war that is about to take place. Then we realized that it might be my dad and uncle Chris, so we ran to the door and opened it and... no one was in sight. Then we saw a shadow and we looked around the house and it was my dad and uncle!!! Abby and I ran into their arms and we all started crying. My dad asked me where my mom was and I told him “a few months ago she went in for a call and the chief came and said that she has been shot.” My dad then held me tighter and started crying. Then he said “you know, no more crying because your mom was a fighter, and she was protecting this community.” I said “I know, but it is so sad.” So we went inside and I told him more stories that have happened over the last four years.
A little more than twenty years later and World War II started, but that is a story for later.
