I believe working within the community is an extremely responsible and worthwhile role that offers an exciting and absorbing career path. The role would allow me to tackle a variety of interesting tasks, where each day brings new challenges. Working as a community support officer would enable me to work on the front line of my local force, working and co-operating with police officers to tackle an array of crimes and disorder problems. I will have the opportunity to work within the local community and build positive relationships by talking with people to explore their viewpoints, and break down barriers between them and the police. When choosing an occupation, one has hundreds of different opportunities that are available. Throughout childhood, every person has had some form of a dream job they wanted to reach. Some people wanted to be astronauts, others firefighters, and yet some wanted to be police officers. The lifestyle that is portrayed of a police officer on the television looks glamourous and action packed, with high speed chases all the time and frequent doughnut stops. But this is not necessarily the reality of the situation.

For a long time, I was always interested in Police work or just wanted to be part of the team. Criminal Justice field is not the best paying job out there, but at the time I know it was interesting and it will be fulfilling to me. I always knew that the Criminal Justice Field is so big when it came down to occupation, so that IS why I had narrow down my decision to a SWAT Team division in a police force as an interest of occupation. The experience I had with a SWAT Team started last year from July to August. I spent a month with the Army 289th Military Police (Special Reaction Team) Company out of Washington D.C. A Special Reaction Team is a SWAT Team in the military world. I was assigned as the Platoon leader for about 10-20 soldiers. We
...whether it be a positive or a negative, sounds like something I would love to do everyday and make it my career. Like I said before, In any job there are ups and downs, but personally in this situation and on this career I believe the positives outweigh the negatives. Being able to save and help people on a daily basis sounds like a dream come true and if I am not busy doing that, I would be planning out routes for the helicopter to fly over to people, or learning how to use newer better equipment that would help me save lives. Everything about the job excites me and gives me an even bigger drive towards it, especially knowing the job is full of adrenaline and fast pace work. I would much rather do something upbeat and different everyday than do the same old boring thing day after day. Overall the job gets an A+ rating from me and I cannot wait to strive towards it.
Over the years I have been very involved in my community and school. Being a part of something helps to define who you are as a person and the principles and values you hold as important. A personal experience that helps to show my talents and skills can be illustrated by my trip to Italy last April with the MHS Language Department.

Today, I still do not know what agency I would want to work with but, all I know is that I will never change my decision of becoming a law enforcement officer. I know I would love to do something federal like my parents have pushed me to do because they want me to go farther than they did. I hope to work as a U.S. Marshall, a Drug Enforcement Agent, or something to better kids who have gotten into trouble. My experiences in Law Enforcement from a young age has easily made me decide my career path.
