The two ecosystem that are very different but similar in some aspects are the woodlands ecosystem and the desert ecosystem. The woodlands have a very wet and cold atmosphere in comparison to the desert which feels dry and sticky. These temperatures is what determines the distinct offsprings that live in each ecosystems. According to my observations, the woodlands are home to ducks, fishes, squirrels, and birds that enjoy a more cool place as their home. In comparison to the desert, it is inhabited by eagles, frogs, bugs, and snakes that like to be in a open space territory with constant exposure to heat. One can barely spot one or two bundle of flowers growing in this ecosystem. On the other hand, in the desert ecosystem, you can feel the direct contact of the sun burning your skin. In contrast with the woodlands, the desert does not have plants or bushes tall enough to create shade anywhere in this ecosystem. Since there is no plants, or trees tall enough to block off the sun, there is no grass in this ecosystem and this is why the dirt is what one mostly steps on. There are no vivid colors of plants in the desert, because of the heat present and breeze absent. and you can only spot green cactuses, succulents, and trees that do not require water. In both ecosystems, animals benefit when it comes to camouflaging. For example, in the desert the brown color can perhaps helps an eagle camouflage, and in the woodlands, the abundance in green allows birds to camouflage. All in all, both ecosystems are full of life in their own characteristics. Biomes are major life zones characterized by vegetation type or by the physical environment. Climate plays a role in determining the nature and location of Earth’s biomes. Texas has 10 different ecosystems with lots of diversity.
The people of the Eastern Woodlands made many tools to help them in their everyday lives. They made spears, weirs, nets, bows and arrows, lances, knives, taps, snares and deadfall for hunting. Most of those tools were made of wood or bark and other forest material. Arrowheads were made from chert, or flint, from sedimentary rocks. They were shaped like isosceles triangles, the smallest arrows were used for hunting birds, the bigger ones were to spear bears or deer. Flint knives were often oval, or teardrop shaped. For fishing they made spears, weirs, and nets. They also made canoes from hollowed-out trees to help with fishing in the lakes and streams. The Interior Plains is a region in west-central Canada, in the Mountain and Central time zones. It is the fourth largest region of Canada. Majority of the Interior Plains is prairie land with lots of flatlands. The total area of this region is 1, 900, 000 km². We have to consider all the different factors involved in the species diversity and abundance especially the key factor. The key factor is the amount of light. The ground flora is obviously dependant upon light to photosynthesise. When the canopy layer is cut back this allows more light to reach the ground level increasing the abundance of the ground plants as they can photosynthesise more. Also the acidity of the soil may be different affecting the species diversity as some plants are better adapted for acidic soil whilst others may be better suited for alkaline soil.
In order to understand how desertification is in relation to the world, it must be defined first. To be completely clear, desertification is the process of fertile grasslands becoming unusable desert because of natural causes and poor land use (Collins). This is a widely recognized problem since it is happening so rapidly around the world, not to mention it affects so many people. The numbers are astonishing. Worldwide, two billion people suffer the consequences of desertification (Roos). Not only that, but according to Bogumil Terminski, “Desertification of soils appears to be one of the fundamental causes of hunger in many regions of the world” (Current Dynamics). The first organism is an herbivore and is called the Dromedary Camel. Possible current limiting factors are that there might too much rain in the desert or too little or none at all. Climate and precipitation are abiotic factors. Too little, none, or too much rain could be caused by global warming since there are many droughts, too much snowfalls, rainfalls, etcetera as the years progress and global warming gets worse and worse. This would be a decrease of Dromedary Camels if there is little or no rain. It would be a increase if there is too much rain.

The Desert's, Oasis', and Sahel's environment of Sahara determine how people in that area survive. The Sahara desert has one of the harshest environments in the world. The Oasis has so many living things that could not survive without it, including humans. And finally, the Sahel which may not be as bad as the Sahara but still shapes the way some humans live. In order for humans like us to survive, they have to adapt, to survive on any resource they can get and use.
Furthermore, the tropical rainforest is a hot, moist ecosystem located near earth’s equator. The world’s greatest tropical rainforests are in South America, Africa, and South East Asia. They receive from 60-160 inches of rain per year that is fairly even. The weather and temperature makes this ecosystem suitable environment for many different plants and animals. Tropical rainforests have the most biodiversity in all ecosystems. Over 15 million species of plants and animals live there. In the tropical rainforest, plants grow so fast that they rapidly consume the nutrients from the decomposed leaf litter. Some examples of animals in this ecosystem are birds, butterflies, sloths, jaguars, worms, frogs, and toads.
For my ecosystem of choice, I have chosen the desert. Deserts are believed to have been around for as long as Earth itself has been around. I chose this ecosystem because it is one of the more interesting ecosystems to me. I have also been through many deserts before which has given me much curiosity to learn more about them. A forest may remain relatively unchanged by weather that would destroy a nearby field of corn, because the forest is characterized by greater diversity of plants and animals.
