Recommended: The role of women in literature

Women are essentially the unsung heroes throughout history. They do not get much attention or credit in textbooks. The question that must be answered was “Surveying the course as a whole, how have women played significant, even central roles in the history this course covers?” The project outlines the progression of women throughout time in regards to the women that were not satisfied with the status quo. The women played significant roles by choosing to say something and invoke change in their society. Women have played a central role in history by paving the way for future generations to receive the rights and equal treatment that they may not have received during their time. Words have so much power when used correctly. Many women choose to use the written word as their contribution to history. The history taught to most people are filled with valiant male heroes, but usually choose to neglect their female …show more content…

When in truth, females have held a great role in history. It shows that women steadily began to stand up for themselves and demand a change for equality. This begins with the realizations of Susan B. Anthony and spans until the inequality in the treatment of women in both the professional and domestic arenas still prevalent in modern times. These stories are usually chosen to be ignored by the mainstream society. The truth only comes out when people place an effort in finding it. The project shows a small snapshot of the roles of women throughout history. The video is organized in chronological order; in the same way it was presented during the course. It begins with a quote from the peer-reviewed article regarding the impact the lack of presence of women in history has on the perceptions of society. Following, it continues with the words of Susan B. Anthony and her ideas about the inequalities based on gender present in society
