Abstract On June 26, 2015 a divided Supreme Court ruled in the landmark case Obergefell v. Hodges that same-sex couples could now marry nationwide. At the time of the split ruling there were 9 supreme court justices, 5 of the justices were Republicans, and the remaining 4 were Democrats. In high profile cases it is except that the justices will vote along party lines. When the 5-4 ruling was reveled by the following statement. “It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right (Corn,2015).” written by
The Peace and Freedom Party was founded on June 23, 1967. This party was created during the 1960’s while the civil rights and antiwar movements occurred. This party’s intentions back then were to get people to work together instead of fighting each other in order to achieve the goal they were pursuing. Today the party has taken on more issues and continues to address them concerning minority groups, women, the environment and so much more. Their public statement says that they believe in socialism, democracy, ecology, racial equality, internationalism and antiwar movements. Also, they want to represent the working and lower class to give them a voice and bring them together. In other words, this party believes that everyone should live as they

This party is necessary to the United States because it expands upon the ideas of a major party, and improves them by strengthening foreign policy and reducing the national debt. The party also strongly encourages individuals to take responsibility of their own lives, and not be dependent upon other people. This is evident in both the party name, and one of their planks concernin...
The Populist Party, although short lived, was one of the most successful third party movements in American history. Though the party itself is no longer existent, many of the party’s ideas and goals lead to legislation after their demise.
Preamble As we look back upon the 20th Century, we see the birth of American prominence. The century is marked by glorious American achievements ranging from the birth of the Space Age to the development of the Information Age. Now, as we venture through the new millennium, the potential for further American prosperity is enormous. At times this journey will be a perilous quest, but with valiant leadership this nation shall flourish.
Throughout my research I found there is a real cry out for action on providing more affordable house not just locally but throughout the country. There needs to be more funding available to build more gear to income or subsidized housing and all levels of government need to take action.
“How the Crash Will Reshape America” explored many solutions such as transforming small towns into larger cities, utilizing the town and the residential areas that border them more wisely and choosing the leading cities that are declining in business, housing and industry to expand them by making them more appealing to new professionals that are not yet established with a steady job or those who are established but looking to expand and save. Although jobs would be created, the first step and most plausible solution would be to build more new homes in towns where the housing market would increase in order to attract people and future businesses. This solution would encourage growth in different aspects such as new homes or businesses, which then in turn would lead to more jobs in order to build these constructions and correspondingly jobs would be available in the new businesses that were created (Florida, 2009).
The views of my parents were the first experiences that I had relating to politics, and they helped shape the political opinions and beliefs that I hold today. In this paper, I will be discussing the political party I identify with, as well as which interest groups have influenced my life and beliefs the most. I will also discuss specific policies that I support, and what we as Americans can and cannot do because of the laws passed by the political party that I support. I will also touch on my personal level of interest and involvement in my political party.
In the United States today, a third major political party is needed. The two current major parties are inadequate due to a lack of representation of the people, and recurrent stalemates that occur when a controversial decision has to be made. Adding a third major party would help with the voting decisions, representation of the people, and the government overall.
In 1997, Tony Blair of the labour party won the United Kingdom’s general election on the ideology, goals and a party manifesto of a ‘new labour’, a revision, an update and a reform of the old labour party, bringing new radical politics to the 20th century - although some believe that labour only won the election due to the British publics increasing hate for Thatcher and the conservatives. The term new labour was a reflection on how the labour party was trying to reform itself and depart from the ideas of ‘old labour’ that had failed to win an election since 1974 and take on new ideas and politics that seemed radical, new and progressive and that would regain trust from the British voters. ‘New labour, new for Britain’ was the slogan that first appeared on the party’s manifesto in 1996 and soon became the party’s main slogan for the campaign of the 1997 elections. But how exactly was new labour new? New labour was trying to become more progressive with its politics that reformed all of the key policy domains that the government were interested in. By attempting to reform the party’s manifesto as well as clause IV, new labour attempted to become a new party that could progress British politics rather than rely on traditional politics of old labour. New labour wanted to modernise the party’s by perusing their traditional goals which include job support, economic growth, investments in public services, welfare and redistribution but they also wanted new progressive politics that catered to the minority groups in terms of social justice, for example civil partnerships (King,2002). However, some argue that new labour was not particularly ‘new’ and instead that Blair’s government had betrayed the traditions of the labour party and inst...
...just as welfare helped people during the great depression, this new plan could help people during this extreme recession. It is so important to keep people in their homes and not on the street and with help from our government and each individual taking responsibility for their actions, the amount of people facing foreclosure can decrease. Every American wants to know that they have a place to go home to and to call their own. For many people placing their homes up for foreclosure was something they never thought would happen and it is easy to say what one would have done to prevent this. As American we must stop blaming and looking at what has happened to the housing market and start planning on ways to fix this situation. Our country should take the resources we have now in the present, and create a plane to insure that every person is taken care of in the future.
