Without A Story Of Progress

"Without a struggle, there can be no progress" (Douglass). Without a struggle actions remain the same. The meaning of progress means to move forward. Nothing is given to you, you must strive and persevere to succeed. Mistakes are a sounding board that you grow and learn from. If you don't go through conflict or struggles, then how can you fix a problem? If you move forward from obstacles and difficulties you have perseverance.
For example, David's story is a story of perseverance. In the story of David and Goliath, God needed a new king because Saul disobeyed him. God told Samuel to find a new king and his name was David. There were giants that lived on the land of the Philistines and the giants were a problem. One day a giant named

Goliath told the men to come and fight him. So David went and conquered him. Goliath attacked him and David reached into his pouch and pulled out a stone and put into his slingshot. Then, he shot the giant right between his eyes, and suddenly Goliath started to loose his balance. The giant fell on his face, and David became a hero to all the people of Israel.
Another example is Jackie Robinson . When he started his baseball career he was basically at the bottom. All white citizens who were associated with MLB would not allow him to be on their team. Jackie fought off racism and hatred in order for him to become a professional baseball player. He succeeded because Branch Rickey, who was associated with the Brooklyn Dodgers wanted him. Jackie’s race held him up and he finished with a victory.
Lastly, there will be times throughout life where struggles will be lessons learned. We all want to succeed and we have to endure conflict to make progress. Teenagers have many struggles to overcome. There is jealousy, peer pressure, bullies, and relationships just to name a few. These conflicts help a teenager grow when at times they want to give up.
In conclusion, we never expect to have struggles in our life. Those struggles are what lead us to being a well rounded individual. We have to work hard, move forward, and keep our heads held high. If we do this, life has no boundaries that we can’t overcome.
