The assignment for the book Wit was to analyze the social implications within the play. When I read the book, it did not make much sense to me the first time. But, after you gave us some breakdown, I immediately thought of writing a comparison between, Wit as characterized in the play and humility. I came up with this topic because that was my understanding and summary of the book. But when I started writing a few words on paper, I realized it was difficult understanding the assignment. I could talk about the story easily but did not know how to put it in writing. When I watched the film in class, and you continued with more analysis of the different characters as they relate to the play, I achieved a better clarity. Furthermore, during classes with the help of contributions from classmates, and your explanations, I started writing down key points about the book and the characters specifically. You explained how I could start and advised me to focus my work on two characters that have the comparison I want to write on. You also gave me guidelines on how to write, so that the analysis will be in sequence. It became a little easier to write on the protagonist, Vivian and an exact opposite of her Susie. I described Vivian’s character in detail as well as Susie’s. I also had to generate a comparison of both characters to fit my main idea and topic. The article, “Girl Moved To Tears By 'Of Mice And Men' Cliffs Notes,” published by The Onion, argues through its satire that people shouldn’t cry over the dry, analyzed parts like the summaries and that they should read the book instead. The type of satire used to develop the thesis is horatian and a satirical device used to develop the thesis is irony. The article is filled with verbal irony with direct quotes from Weaver like “‘I never wanted the synopsis to end’” and from her professor that said, “this was not the first time one of his students has expressed interest in the novel’s plot summary.” The target of the satire are students who read summaries rather than the entire book and the purpose is to encourage students to read the book rather than Cliff Notes to get all the information. The opposing argument is that sources like Sparknotes and Cliff Notes can actually help a student if they don’t understand something they just read or if they are under a time crunch.

I decided to review “Silver Linings Playbook”, which is based on a romantic-comedy novel written by Matthew Quick. It was produced in 2012 by The Weinstein, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro.
The comparison and contrast between these two stories is evident. They both developed as characters in similar settings but have different situations and outcomes. They differed in their goals and how they would achieve their goals and their mental health status sets them apart. These stories have contrast and similarities, over all the differences outweigh the comparisons.
A character is a person in a story that plays a particular role. Stories require characters so that it forms conflicts, tensions and resolutions. Characters also carry certain traits to make the story interesting and unique. Each character might have different attributes. Others could have similar and different qualities. Those who read many novels might notice that characters from various books are similar to each other to an extent, but are not completely the same. The old English poem, Beowulf, and Shakespeare's Macbeth contain characters with similar characteristics. Beowulf and Macbeth share similar traits, but do not have the same objective. Comparing and contrasting determine the similarities and differences of things. Comparing and contrasting is an excellent tool to determine what is right and wrong. When choosing the best car to drive, comparing and contrasting helps in the choice of the best vehicle. Macbeth and Beowulf demonstrate that a warrior's motivations matter for both soldiers and the people.
Essay 4: Comparative Analysis of Two Texts When comparing two texts, one must look at the characters and themes to find similarities and differences and we see a similarity with the theme of accepting reality in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and The Great Gatsby. There are differences in both texts with the way the characters fight reality, but the outcome is the same. The power of love in both texts is looked at as more important than social priorities and the main characters will do anything to get what they want and it results in death. One might come to conclusions to say that F. Scott Fitzgerald based the relationship of Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan on Romeo and Juliet, seeing that both stories have characters who do not accept the reality and in their minds, love overpowers everything. When looking at these two texts side to side, one would notice many similarities in the actions of the main characters.
When doing this type of activity it is best to employ a combination of two different teaching philosophies. One of them is Pragmatism and the other is Idealism. Idealists value the mind and concepts over all things. In this exercise, it is important to keep this sort of attitude. Students may not always understand the full meaning of the text. Often their young lives do not contain enough experience to comprehend the decisions, or actions that characters make. That is why it is more important that the class grasp the idea of motivated action. The intended meaning of a line will determine how the other characters perceive and react to it. This also lends itself to the idealist precept that life should be guided by thought.
The Laramie Project written by Moisés Kaufman and the Members of Tectonic Theater Project is a play about Matthew Shepard, a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming who was killed and tied up to a fence in Laramie, Wyoming during October 1998. Unlike most plays, this was written very differently, but the result was breathtaking. Besides reading this play, I have also been an actor in this show. This play has really affected me throughout the years, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it once again.
To begin, the musical I went to watch was a high school version of the musical Grease. In the beginning, the male lead, Danny Zuko, meets a girl on the beach. At school, he tells his friends about her and how she doesn't live anywhere close to them. Little does he know that the girl, Sandy, recently moved and now attends his high school. One play stood out from the others during this festival. That play was "Dos Corazones". This play was directed by Laixsa Mercado.
The book seems realistic, I tend to love Historical fiction literature. It was challenging to write a new paragraph for each page set because I felt repetitive, I have never experienced that, so it was something new. I think the phrase that I wrote was in a poem I wrote for the page sets, this is what I said “ My journal is where I let my mind be free my body is slowly shutting down the lies that they are feeding me, I can no longer see, my left ear contains no sound. I know I will shine, Can you tell me you would stay.” This phrase struck out to be it basically depicts the whole story in the poem. The way her father treated her had really stuck to me, I was surprised I could actually read about something that deep and understand what they are saying. It shows I can use words to build my Ballad poem, connecting it to my reading. As a writer I have seen my growth with the words I choose to use. The way I phrase certain situations, since the beginning of my senior year I was a horrible write and now it is still not as good as others in my class but I am working my way up there. I am prepared for college-writing level; by the time I am done with my senior year I will feel fully prepared.
