In the book the Wish You Well in can relate to Romeo and Juliet by how neither one of the characters families wanted them together in the story Diamond told Lou and Oz. It also can relate because like Romeo and Juliet they would do whatever they had to do to be together, because they were so deep in love and didn't want anyone else but each other. Also another thing that relates is that could relate to the story is that they families hated each other so much they would never stand for the love they had for each other, also like Romeo and Juliet they where planning to run off with each other so they could be together. The last thing that would make the same is plot of each story. One thing that would make them different is that this story
took place in a different time, and different places, like Romeo and Juliet it was in Italy and Wish You Well story was in Virginia. Another thing that makes them so different is that neither one of the families are royalty and in Romeo and Juliet the families where. The setting where each story is taking place is also different. The biggest different that stands out to me is that in the story Diamond told is that the characters died by jumping into the well, while in Romeo and Juliet, Romeo thought that Juliet was dead, so he drank the poison to kill himself to be with her, when all reality she was in a deep sleep. But when she woke up he found him dead so she drank the poison to kill herself also. Like the Wish You Well story the family of the lady did not have another guy chose out for her to marry, so the guy did not have to kill someone to be with the lady, like Romeo did for Juliet.
Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is a story of two young lovers. These two hearts, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet belong to feuding families. The family feud causes them to keep their love a secret and therefore only Romeo, Juliet, Benvolio, the Nurse and Friar Lawrence know of their love. Romeo and Juliet are able to look past the feud and let themselves fall in mad love with the other. They let themselves do almost anything for the other and at times it seems like too much to do, even for the one they love. Although fate and character traits play a key role in the play, ultimately Rome and Juliet’s personal choices lead to their downfall.Fate originates all of the conflicts in Romeo and Juliet, from when they met until they die.
“Romeo and Juliet” is so much like “Pyramus and Thisbe” it is excruciatingly obvious. These timeless tales tell the story of true love, and also the loss of death. “Romeo and Juliet” can compare to “Pyramus and Thisbe” for three reasons; the lovers come from disagreeing families, the tales are both tragedy, and they are based on misconception and ill-timing. Although these stories are painful, they are also true to human nature, and that is why they are so similar.
The deaths per year done by guns, 80% of them are gang related. If I Grow Up, written by Todd Strasser shows the life of a male kid growing up in the projects in Chicago. DeShawn wanted didn’t want to join the gang and stay in school. But his family didn’t have money or food. His friend that was in the gang had a bunch of money. So DeShawn joined the gang because in school they didn’t teach them much, and the money that his family got was a lot more of it when he got in the gang. I think that DeShawn had a choice not to join the gang because he could get a job, could have gotten a better education, and other people have gotten out of the projects.

Romeo and Juliet is a riveting tale of two star-crossed lovers who uncover the dangers of passion and greed, and tragically end up dying, when the stars of fate refuse to line up in their favor. While fate may be guilty in the tragic outcome of the play, Lord Capulet’s greedy outlook upon his daughter Juliet, is the relationship that is most responsible for the untimely demise of the two lovers. When overwhelmed by greed and selfishness, Lord Capulet’s decisions drive Juliet to make risky, irrational choices out of desperation to avoid marriage to Paris, which ultimately lead to her, and Romeo’s, tragic end.

Romeo and Juliet’s love story was miserable but captivating in Shakespeare’s play, while in West Side Story it was musical and lively. In shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet fall in love, but their families hate each other because of bad history. In West Side Story Tony and Maria fall in love but they are in different groups. Jets are American’s, and the Sharks are Puerto Ricans, both of the groups hate each other because they are of different cultures and they can 't accept each other. Also because they are fighting over the territory. I 'm going to be proving how the play and musical are different, even though they are based on each other.
