Recycling in the U.S. and Wisconsin
Very good and strong are two important words to describe Wisconsin’s background for recycling. To support this; the DNR website said that Wisconsin keeps 2 million tons of trash out of landfills and incinerators every year. This is a fantastic accomplishment, but I think we can do better. This can be done in many ways. Such as recycling newspapers instead of throwing the newspaper away like many people do. In the United States 44 million newspapers out of 62 million are thrown away every year. Another way we could would be to compost more. In Wisconsin we produce almost 500,000 tons of composting material, but yet some people don’t recycle any of it. According to the DNR website, 73% of people in Wisconsin

Doing all of the steps is worth it if you know exactly what happens when you do recycle. People just think about themselves and not the planet or people that will be living on this planet in the future. It’s time for this to stop and for everyone in the world to step up to the plate and help to make the world a better place. To do this you have to first know what to be recycled and what not to be. I will be basing all of this information on the Pepin County Recycling Center. One of the number one rules is you can only recycle plastics number one and two or PETE and HDPE. You can also recycle paper products such as newspaper and cardboard boxes. The cardboard has to be flattened and it can’t have the wax covering on it. You can also recycle brush and grass clippings. Then when it breaks down it becomes black dirt that is great for gardening and people can take some home to reuse it. I got some information from the Pepin County recycling center brochure that you can bring old furniture, electronics, light bulbs, and old appliances. There is a fee, though for all of these items, but it depends on what it is. The bigger it is, the more you have to pay. These are just some of the things that you can recycle there, but there are many
Let 's take a look at the points from the article 10 ways recycling hurts the environment, by Andrew Handley. The number one point is that recycling gives false promises, but how? Andrew Handley says, “The biggest reason recycling hurts the environment doesn’t have anything to do with the technical process—it’s the mindset it gives people. Recycling’s main impact is to convince us that it’s okay to be wasteful in other areas, because we make up for it through recycling. It encourages consumption, rather than pointing out ways to reduce consumption overall.” Honestly, the biggest reason people don 't recycle is because they are plain lazy, there is no way to sugar-coat that. People don 't want to take the extra 10 seconds it would take to get another bag for the cans or bottles. They just don 't care.
Recycling is the practice of reusing old products to create knew ones in order to essentially “re use” them. In theory, this process is supposed to work perfectly, but because of other factors it doesn’t. The whole idea of recycling is supposed to lead, eventually, to a world where everything will be recycled and used over and over again; thus, no more mining, cutting down tress, and other jobs that require people to do some sort of labor in order to create a certain type of object. The process of recycling would in due time, end these types of labor. Recycling is not entirely a good thing because not everyone does, it requires unnecessary funds, and it takes away many jobs.
I am not a big earth first person but I do believe in recycling because I work at a local recycling center and I think recycling is a good thing. In fact I think everyone should recycle to make the earth a better place as a whole. A few good reasons why recycling is a good this is, the more people recycle, the less room is filled in landfills. Also, when people recycle they are reusing materials, therefore saving resources. Another good reason is that when you recycle often times you get paid back the C.R.V. that you already paid for in the grocery store.
Lots of recycled products are less expensive than brand new ones. Buying cans, bottles, paper, and some clothing items made from recycled goods are all potential ways to save you money. People can use their recycled items. People can use their recycled paper to make pencil which saves money. When people make paper it cost $25,000 dollars a month. If people use recycled paper, then it won't even cost about $100. The benefit in cost per can in terms of savings is so low that it's quite insignificant. On another level, the savings in terms of energy required in making a new can from scratch as compared to making it from an existing can is tremendous. The cost of aluminum would be high if people did not recycle it. Metals like copper, iron, and steel can also be recycled. Scrap bits of metal can be brought to a scrap dealer who will pay cash for the metal. Automobile manufacturers get good money for scrap metal too. Some people think that recycling is a great way to save
Many people believe that we should not recycle anymore, but this is not the case. We, the people of the world, need to continue to recycle because we do not want our children to grow up in a world where there are no certain species of animals due to recycling failures. We also do not want our children to grow up thinking that it is okay that they throw their garbage on the ground, and not have to pick it up. We need to teach our children that they need to take care of the earth that they are living on, because they only get one. Recycling is one of the most beneficial environmental issues that we have here on this earth. Recycling saves energy, limits pollution and supports several environmental factors of the economy. “In 2003, the savings from recycling 54 billion aluminum cans exceeded the energy equivalent of 15 million barrels of crude oil- or the amount of gas the U.S. uses in one day,” according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA estimates that 200 million gallons of used oil are not disposed of properly, and if we were to dispose the oil properly then we could keep the oil from polluting the ground and the fresh water source. According to E. Takatori, “… While on-going societal regulation treats material recycling as the dominant cycle, the properties of recycled plastic remain the most port
Recycling should be a well-known phenomenon by now, right? In my community, homeowners are given a recycling bin and it is surprising to me how few actually take advantage of it. As I am driving down the street in my neighborhood, I often times see more trash bins than recycling bins on trash pick up day. I am appalled at the fact that many people fail to recycle and instead throw away items in garbage bins. One solution to this issue could be for Americans to become more aware of what they are buying and be sure not to buy goods they will not use or consume. "Average household credit card debt topped the landmark of $10,000 in 2006." (69) Most goods that were bought that year were thrown away just a few years later, which is a horrific statement. By purchasing only goods that are needed and paying closer attention to recycling, the landfills that cover America could be greatly reduced. Most individuals are not aware of what happens to their garbage, or they simply do not care where it ends up. I will admit that even I do not give much thought as to where my garbage ends up, but I do my best to recycle, as well as most of my friends and family. A large quantity of the garbage thrown into landfills escapes and ends up in oceans— especially plastic bags—but it could also be pieces of plastic, glass, and so
I. There seem to be some background points I must go over before I can properly persuade you to recycle; this includes definitions and standard waste makeup.
Have you ever wonder what can you do about the bottles and cans you find around you? People that doesn?t care about the world being clean is littering the place. It makes things very difficult to put up for. Recycling cans and bottles can help save the earth form waste and trash buildup and can make new things. I think that recycling should be mandatory and there should be recycling cans in various locations at school and everywhere else.
Yes, it was much simpler in the days before recycling but we have to do it for our planet. It's not just milk jugs, tin cans, and plastic bags anymore, though. You're supposed to recycle just about everything so that you barely have to take out the trash anymore. Some things are fun to recycle. You don't have to go to a recycling center; you just turn those things into something else you might need or use.
The benefits for recycling are the down going cost and/or the purest quality of bottles, cans, plastic, iron, water, paper, air, vegetables, meat, fruit, spoilage, alcohol, cigarettes, all kinds of minerals, your everyday life, your very own and family’s health, and so on. You would never expect some list like that without thinking about your environment deeply, right? Generally, recycling is an effective way for anyone to prevent pollution and the only way to give the Earth time to heal its self from these evil citizens who do not care about the poison they’ve been generating. This process saves energy, reduce toxic, water, and air pollution; as well as giving creatures that aren’t human a fair chance to live in this cruel planet that the world considers successful.
Recycling. What does this word mean to you? Do you recycle? Do you support or oppose the act of it? What is written in the following paragraphs may or may not help you make this one special planet in our solar system we call Earth; the only planet scientists know supports life. Recycling benefits many aspects of life. Recycling benefits the aesthetics of our daily environment, it makes our family and friends safer from sickness, it boosts our economy, and it allows us to make more use of the limited natural nonrenewable resources we have on our earth. Recycling will benefit life by reducing our environmental impact, preventing injury, boosting the economy, and extending the use we can make can make out of our resources.
Recycling is important in the effort to preserve our environment for future generations. We are running out of locations to put landfills. Recycling is a simple and effective way to reduce the amount of waste stored in landfills, yet many people do not know how easy it can be. For example, whenever I go to Shoprite® and I b...
Lots of people consider recycling to be kind of a no-brainer, something we all should do. It’s good for the environment, it re-uses materials rather than creates new ones, it reduces landfills -- the list goes on and on. But one major benefit that people often overlook is the impact recycling programs can have on a community.
Do you want to live on an Earth even more polluted and trashed than it is now? The planet is covered in waste and landfills. This, in part, is due to a lack of recycling by many of the households that are in a place to do so. Out of the total 29 million bottles of water that Americans buy every year, a mere 13 percent of those bottles are recycled. By recycling plastics like water bottles, cardboard, and paper, we can reduce the waste and pollution that currently plagues this ailing planet. Recycling, by its simplest definition, is turning trash or garbage into usable materials. You should start recycling and add to the group of people trying to help the planet. By doing this, you are contributing to a
Wastes are the products of our consumptions in our daily life routines such as lunch, work, school and other things we do. Little things such as throwing out a piece of paper, we are producing waste by the seconds. After we consume a product we usually throw out what’s left that can’t be consumed any further. Results in producing waste, substance that are born after it’s been use or consume by us. At the end of each day we throw out a bag full of garbage, all of the materials in that bag (paper towels, cans, leftover foods and many other material’s) all of these are waste. Hospitals produce medical waste such as use needles for treating patients. Corporations produce papers, plastics, tires, steels, cans and many other type of solid waste which contribute to the pollutions that cause health risk and other environmental issues.
