From the Odyssey Laertes’ son, Odysseus and his crew had been on the trip to fight the Trojan war. They had been traveling for a while and when they got close to home, the current drifted them to sea. The high winds had been pushing them for nine days and finally on the tenth they came to the coastline of the Lotus Easters. The people there were not looking to hurt the men, but they did give some lotus flowers as food. The men that ate the lotus did not desire to come back home so, the captain had to tie them down on the boat. Next, they continued their travels in till they came across another land. There they are given two gifts, one is a fair west wind that will blow his ships towards home and a big bad containing bad winds that blow him away from home. They start to head home using the fair west wind when the crew members get curious of what the big bad contains. They decide to open it to see if it contains gold. When it is opened the bad winds come out and push the boat all the way back to Aeolus. Unfortunately, he is not willing to help them out again and they must sail on their own now. When the crew explored the island, they found where Circe lived, and she called the in for a seat. One man stayed at the door being to afraid and the rest took a seat in her room. There she made a snack and drinks for the men. She gave them drinks that had been poisoned with her potion and made them drunk and changed them. The man at the door then ran back to the caption on the ship and told him that the men where in trouble and that he needed to help. When he got to Circe she told him that the only way he could have his men back was if he need to make mutual love in bed with her. Odysseus wanted to see his men first and then he would. Days and days went by after getting his men back and the crew finally said let’s leave. So, Odysseus asked Circe to let him go and she said that the only way he can travel if he wants to go is dangerous. She told him that he would have to put wax in each crew’s ears and tie himself to the boat because there would be music along the way that would harm him. After learning this he got on his boat and left to go home. When he got to the music they all go t ready and made it out
