William Shakespeare was baptized on April 26, 1564, in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Although no birth records exist we can assume that he was born April 23, 1564 based on his church records from when he was baptized. William’s father, John Shakespeare, was a leather merchant while, William’s mother; Mary Arden was a local landed heiress. He was the 3rd child and he had two older sisters, Joan and Judith, and three younger brothers, Gilbert, Richard, and Edmund. His father became a successful merchant but records show that his fortune started to decline around the late 70s. There aren’t many records of William’s childhood and basically none regarding his education. Scholars believe that Will most likely attended the King’s New School, in Stratford.

William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway on November 28, 1582, in Worcester, in Canterbury Province. Will was 18 and Anne was 26, she was also pregnant with their first child, a daughter they named Susanna; born on May 26,1583. Two years later, on February 2, 1585, twins Hamnet and Judith were born. Hamnet later died of unknown causes at age 11. After the twins were born, there are 7 years of William’s life where no records exist. Many call this period the “lost years” and there are many theories behind what he did for those years.

The myth is that he died on his birthday, April 23, 1616 because church records show he was interred at Trinity Church on April 25, 1616.

Although Shakespeare died nearly 400 years ago his plays, and all of his works are timeless. We have over 1700 words in the English language that William Shakespeare introduced. In conclusion there are more plays than I could put on this paper that show his views on human condition and the contributions he made to the world, he contributed to the political side of things and everything else. And although He’s been dead for many centuries and his life is kind of a mystery the biggest part of why he was timeless were his plays. They were able to explain the human condition perfectly and not only that but he also introduced over 10,000 words into the English vocabulary. So no matter how long Shakespeare is dead he will continue to live on, whether its through people, textbooks, the internet, or any way that his life can be passed on it will because Shakespeare is timeless and there isn’t anything to dispute that fact.
