Shakespeare is the most renowned writer in all of history. His theatre plays are still being remade today. He was born on April 23rd 1564. He was born in a small town called Stratford-upon-Avon in England. Little information has been found to document Shakespeare’s early life, there is a record of baptism of a William Shakespeare in which an estimation of his birth date has been presumed from this, as no actual record of birth was made. Scholars have assumed the extent of his early education due to the availability of schooling around Stratford- upon-Avon at the time, there are no schooling records belonging to Shakespeare. Shakespeare was possibly producing plays very early in his theatrical career, some of his peers were critical of this and expressed this as an overachievement on Shakespeare’s part. Shakespeare's early years in theatre, during the 1590’s was at a time when theatre culture was not popular however the actors and playwrights of this time were beginning to socialise with high ranking members of the public. Shakespeare himself began to attract the company of many high profile people. Europe's classical past was revisited and moved away from conformist culture of medieval Europe. The focus moved towards the arts, architecture, literature, philosophy and science. The renaissance had started long before Shakespeare was born, however he was the major person to bring the Renaissance into theatre.The Renaissance saw a great literary change. Poetry of ancient Greek and Rome was transformed and reinvented to focus on human characteristics, behaviours and emotions,rather than religious beliefs and order. Shakespeare embraced the Renaissance which can felt throughout his plays. He updated the current writing style at the time to a two-dimensional writing style of pre-renaissance drama.He focused on making “ human’ characters with physiological complexity. Shakespeare was allowed to explore the humility of any character no matter their hierarchy position this had never been done before but he was able to do because it was part of theater, he often mocked and made a fool out of the higher end of the hierarchy.
