William Shakespeare was born in Stratford on Avon, England, in April of 1564 to Mary and John Shakespeare. He was the third child and the eldest son. His father was a tanner, glove-maker, and trader in wool and other precious commodities. William attended the Stratford Grammar school where he studied and received substantial training in Latin. He was married on November 27, 1582, to a woman named Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than he was. In May of 1583, the couple's first daughter, Susanna was born. The couple had twins in February of 1585, Hamnet and Judith. Throughout his life, Shakespeare wrote thirty-seven plays, and several poems and sonnets. He was also an actor for a short while. William was 18 and Anne was 26. There first born child was Susana. Two years later they had twins, Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet died in 1596 aged 11. Shakespeare died aged 52, on 23rd April 1616.
William Shakespeare was born in 1564 at Stratford upon Avon. His true date of birth is a mystery. It is traditionally celebrated on April 23rd("Shakespeare's" pg 1). He was baptized on April 26th("Shakespeare's" pg 1). Which lead many to believe his birth was only a short time before. Plague struck his town in the same year as his birth. His parents were quite the people.
In his life he experienced many ups and downs as we all do. Shakespeare married a women, Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than he at the ripe age of eighteen. He had a hurried marriage. Just a few months after they had been wed, Susanna was born which meant that the swift marriage was caused by an unplanned pregnancy due to premarital intercourse. Just a short twenty-one months later, they gave birth to a set of twins; Hamnet and Anne. Around 1590, he moved to England to make success of his work and he would later become a co-owner to the Globe Theater. In, 1596 his only son passed at age eleven. Shakespeare and Anne remained wed till 1616, when Shakespeare passed.

William Shakespeare is clouded with mystery. He was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England in 1564. "Although his exact birth date is not know, there is a record of his baptism on April 26, 1954" (Kay 13). "His date of birth would have fallen shortly before that day is traditionally considered to be April 23, 1954" (Campbell and Quinn 755). He was born to John Shakespeare and his wife, Mary Arden and was the oldest of three sons. He also had four sisters. "Little is known of Shakespeare's early life, although it is likely that he received an education at the good local grammar school" (Lawall 2110). Other than that, there really is not much known about Shakespeare's youth. The next concrete piece of evidence about Shakespeare's life is his marriage to Anne Hathaway in November 1582, when he was just eighteen years old. It was a marriage of inconvenience. Anne was eight years older than he was and pregnant at the time so they had no choice but to marry. Their first daughter, Susanna, was born in 1583 and twins Hamnet and Judith were born in 1585. William Shakspere was born in Stratford-upon Avon in 1564 and died in 1616 at the age of 52. In the mid-19th century, questions had arisen about the Shakespeare authorship controversy, and many scholars wondered whether Shakspere, the man from Stratford, wrote the plays. Ralph W. Emerson once said, ?I can not ?marry? Shakspere?s life to Shakespeare?s work? (qtd. in Bethell 48). In many ways, he was right, some things just did not link up. Many people started noticing this thus two opposing sides were formed. Those who believed that the Stratford man did not write the plays and sonnets called themselves the anti-Stratfordians. Although many believed that Shakspere was not the true author of the works, others strongly supported him. Those that believed that ?the Stratford man? was the real playwright became known as the Stratfordians.
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-on-Avon in Warwickshire located in the heart of England on April 23 or 24, 1564. His mother, Mary Arden grew up in a much more prosperous environment than the Shakespeares. His father John, and Mary Arden were married in 1557. John Shakespeare was a wool dealer and glove maker, who became a prominent citizen and well-respected in the community. Eventually, John held a position in the public office. (Bender 13). Subsequently, John Shakespeare experienced financial problems and lost his wealth and governing positions. This, of course, had a big effect on the whole family. William was the third of eight children. The older siblings were sistets Joan, born in 1558 and Margaret in 1562. Both of William's older sisters died very young. (Bender 14). The other dive children were Gilbert born in 1566, a second Joan 1569, Richard 1573, Edmund 1580, and Anne 1580 who died at age eight. (Bender 14).
After 8 years of marriage, Shakespeare began his career of writing at age 26. Shakespeare moved to London for a long period of his life (Paul, "Shakespeare: A Life."). He wrote many plays in London, using inspiration from his surroundings. He started off having some private performances for his plays, and then the Globe Theatre was built. After his time in London, his younger brother Edmund died at age 27 when Shakespeare was 43, and he decided to move back to Stratford.
The average ninth grader in America could tell you they know who William Shakespeare is. How? This is because he has a huge effect on how we perceive literature today. William Shakespeare’s creativity with words has affected everything from love, poetry, history, fantasy, tragedy, comedy, and magic. He wrote his plays with the common man in mind.
His influence is still present when it comes to plays, movies, and other cultural aspects of the world we live in today. William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire, England. His birth and education have been argued about for some time now because there no written evidence of the exact information. This actually led to full out conspiracy theories challenging that idea that Shakespeare actually existed. However, these are just mere speculations that have sparked unwarranted debates over the years.

William Shakespeare was evidently born on April 23, 1564, which is commonly known as St. George’s Day. The records from Holy Trinity Church attested that he was baptized there on April 26, 1564 (Pressley). Traditionally in the Elizabethan era, three days after birth of a child it would be baptized. This led many people to believe that Shakespeare was born on the 23 of April due to his baptism date.
