Throughout history many historians study and use written accounts from the past. William Bradford was one of the people they use.His life as a youth was very difficult. Having to deal with death of family members and his constant sickness. He became a believer and followed the Separatist of the Church. William Bradford was one of the passengers on the Mayflower.
William Bradford was born in 1590 in a small farm community in Austerfield, Yorkshire. When William was a year old his father passed away. He was really sick when he was young. By the age of 12 he had started reading the bible and became part of ministry of Richard Clyfton and John Smith. When William Bradford became eighteen, he joined a group of Separatist that left England in fear of persecution. His family was not supportive of that decision at all. After a year he traveled with his church to a couple different towns, Leiden and Holland. They lived their for the following eleven years. In 1613 Bradford returned to Amsterdam for a while to marry his very young 16 year-old bride Dorothy May. William and his new wife moved to Leiden. Bradford took up work as a silk weaver to make ends meet. He was also able to recover some of the estate in England his father left behind, which helped to support him and Dorothy. It became the foundation of the Plymouth government. John Carver was the first governor of the town Plymouth. He was governor until the following year when he passed away in April 1621. William was the elected as governor, he was re-elected almost every year after. He re-married in 1623 to a widow Alice Southworth. He had a marriage feast that was considered to be the “First Thanksgiving” with Massasoit and a large number of other Indians joining. They brought turkeys and deer to share at the feast. They had three children together. The children’s names were William Bradford, Mercy Bradford, and Joseph Bradford. They lived to adulthood and married. The Jamestown and Plymouth settlements were both settled in the early 1600's. Plymouth and Jamestown were located along the shoreline in Massachusetts and Virginia, respectively. Although both had different forms of government, they both had strong leadership. Jamestown was controlled by the London Company, who wanted to profit from the venture, while the Puritans who settled at Plymouth were self-governed with an early form of democracy and settled in the New World to gain religious freedom. John Smith took charge in efforts to organize Jamestown, and at Plymouth William Bradford helped things run smoothly.
Each of these individuals did their part in making a historical effort on this time period. Their tributes to their communities helped form the nation we are still living in today. William Bradford was a natural born leader and assisted to better his colony in the best of his ability. He was very successful in his trials of teaching and learning as well. Jonathan Edwards was also authentically well in his purposes. From preaching impacting sermons regularly, to being recognized as one of the most prominent philosophers of all time, Edward’s left behind some very big shoes to fill. Bradford, leading his colony as governor in a more lenient matter, and Edward’s, was the stricter of the two. William Bradford was the leader of one of the earliest colonial settlements in the United States. Thomas Morton was one of the settlers with him. Bradford documented his escapade in "Of Plymoth Plantation" to gain support from his home country and fellow colonists. Bradfords work, however differs from Mortons "New English Canaan" which also describes Mortons view on the settlements and the colonies. Morton is just a relaxed person who wants to sit around and party and does not really believe in anything. Bradford on the other hand believes that God is good and all powerful, he will strike you down if you dont go to church every Sunday and do as he says. These two werent the only settlers. They later moved to Augusta when he turned four or five. When they got there, they decided to live with their aunt. Eventually, James’s mother left the family and moved to New York. He would spend a great amount of time alone, and it was hard for him to stay in school. He managed to stay in school until sixth grade. When he was still young, he would sing in talent shows. Dick Spencer led a long career as first a salesman, then a troubleshooter, which led into a managerial role. While the role of salesman was one that Spencer succeeded at, he felt his interest was in a different career path within his company, Tri-American Corporation. It was in his role of manager that he encountered incidents that tested his skills and reactions as a leader. This paper will analyze how Dick Spencer was able to succeed in his role as a salesman, as well as deal with conflict and tribulations as a manager. It will look at how each of these factors either contributed to Spencer’s success or failures within each of these roles. In addition to this, different recommendations will be made as to how Spencer could have approached certain situations differently.
Well, I think part of it to Bradford’s account was a morality tale for future generations. Bradford wrote about how he and others escaped England to venture out to the New World in his book the Plymouth Plantation. This book was straight forward, but I found this book to be a really tough read, I constantly struggled with trying to focus.

The English chemist, Robert Boyle, was the 14th child born to Richard Boyle, the First Earl of Cork, and Catherine. He was born in Lismore Castle, Ireland on January 25, 1627. When he was about a year old, his father sent him to live with an impoverished Irish family for a few years in an attempt to toughen and prepare Robert for life. This separation from his family resulted in Robert’s stutter. The following year, his mother died and he was allowed to return home.
