Wilbur Wright was born in April 16, 1867 while his younger brother Orville Wright was born in 1871. The brothers closely watched the research of Otto Lilienthal. After Lilienthal died in a glider crash, the Wright brothers decided to do their own experiments of flight. Persevered to develop a working design they headed towards Kitty Hawk, California which is known for its strong winds. Wilbur and Orville set to work trying to figure out how to design wings for flight.
