On April 16, 1867, and August 19, 1871 the world changed and nobody even knew it yet; those were the days when two of the smartest human beings in the world were born. On April 16, a child named Wilbur Wright was born in Millville, Indiana and on August 19, his brother Orville Wright was born in Dayton Ohio. Over time the family grew stronger and stronger, basically getting better by the year, instead of going into a decline. As Wilbur and Orville grew up, they took most of their mechanical advice from their mother, and all their intellectual advice from their father, who worked in a church. As their father worked for the church he brought home numerous things for them. One day when he finished work he went to go buy a toy helicopter for the two brothers and that forever changed the world. When he did this it enlightened the Wright brothers into an interest in the art of flying. When they received their toy, the design of it was based of a man in France named Alphonse Penaud., in which made big strides in the art of flying, during the 1860s and 1870s. Alphonse Penaud developed a Planophore in which was suitable to fly only for a short period of a time. When their father Milton Wright moved their family to Richmond, Indiana it was all because of his job in which he became a circuit preacher. When he did this he became big on publishing religious newspapers. After it got big he invented a machine in which folded papers strictly for mailing letters and that showed perseverance for engineering. After he did the folding machine, the Wright family moved back to Dayton, Ohio in 1884. When the Wright brothers got settled in with their new life in Dayton, Ohio, things went very well for them. As Orville and Wilbur tested the third glider in North Carolina, the airplane flew around 622 feet in an incredible time of twenty six seconds. When there gliders were a complete success, it made it the world’s controllable air craft. The Wright Brothers were not finished though, because they still needed to make a propulsion system; so they built an engine with a ton of help from a mechanic. He had to help devise a transmission and a big set of propellers for their plane by at least the 1930’s. At first they tested the aircraft at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina late September 1903.
Lindbergh’s passion for mechanics didn’t come as a surprise to many. As a young boy, Charles seemed to be very interested in the family’s motorized vehicles, such as the Saxon Six automobile and Excelsior motorbike. But after starting college in the fall of 1920 as a mechanical engineer, his love for aviation started to bloom. Deciding that the field of aviation was more exciting, he dropped out within 2 years. He then decided to take lessons at the Nebraska Aircraft Corporation’s flying school and was up in the air for the first time on April 9, 1922 when he was in a two seat biplane as a passenger. But his solo flight would not be until May 1923 at the Souther Field in Americus, Georgia, an old flight training field where Lindbergh came to buy a World War I Curtiss JN-4 “Jenny” biplane. It only took half an hour to practice with another pilot at the field to decide that Lindbergh was ready to fly the plane himself. After a week of practicing, Lindbergh took off on his biplane on his first solo cross country flight and few weeks after that, achieving his first nighttime flight near Arkansas, both marking huge milestones for the young pilot.
Frank Lloyd Wright was born on June 8, 1867, in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Although often stated that he was born in 1869, records prove that he was born in 1867. He was a single child who’s mother was Anna Lloyd Jones, and his father was William Carey Wright. His mom was a teacher and his dad was a preacher. They were a Welsh family that moved around frequently during his early years, living in cities such as Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Iowa before finally settling in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 12 years old. Wright fell in love with the outdoors while spending summers with his mother’s family in Spring Green. He would study the landscape of the hills, modeling and looks of it. In 1885, Wright graduated from public high school in Madison, it is also the same year his parents got a divorce and his father moved away, never hearing from him again. That same year, Wright enrolled at the University of Wisconsin at Madison to study civil engineering. To pay for his tuition and to help support his mom, he would work for the dean, at his college, in the engineering department and he assisted the acclaimed architect Joseph Silsbee with the construction of the Unity Chapel. This convinced Wright that he wanted to be an architect, in 1887 he dropped out of school to go work for Silsbee in Chicago. In 1888, Wright began an apprenticeship with the Chicago architectural firm of Adler and Sullivan, where he worked directly under Louis Sullivan, who had a profound influence on Wright. In some ways he helped change the American society.
Richard Wright has been referred to me for therapy regarding his theft from the local theater, and I believe that he committed this crime because he believes that because of his station in society he would never be able to support himself and his family through honest means. Despite the fact that he does hold some remorse for his actions, it would appear that whatever remorse he holds is tempered by his justifications for stealing. A thorough analysis of his reasoning has been conducted and with testimony from the patient to serve as my proof, I will begin treatment to show him the error of his ways.

While the brothers were discovering and how to make a plane glide and ultimately how to make it fly, they kept returning to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina to test their ideas once the constructed them in the back of their bicycle shop. Over the course of four years the encountered “violent storms, accidents, disappointment, public indifference, and clouds of mosquitoes” and many other setbacks that would have shoken other inquiring pioneers (McCullough 106). (Cite) On a windy day, the brothers tested their glider. Wilbur was the pilot while Orville and a man named Bill Tate held ropes that would steady the glider like a kite. The craft was successful and lifted fifteen feet off the ground. (Cite) After the successful flight though, the brothers ran into a slight set back. While adjusting the glider, a wind lifted the craft off the ground and the glider was smashed onto the ground a few yards away. This crash was not the last setback the wright brothers experienced. After many successful flights later on, the brothers began to look for a way for the glider to be self-powered, and not have to rely on the wind. Their glider needed a propeller and an engine.
Wilbur and Orville Wright were pioneers, skilled craftsman, and engineers not only in aviation but in many other trades as well. “They loved to tinker and experiment with mechanical things and it characterized the Wrights through out their lives. Each of the brothers had a deeply ingrained inquisitive streak that was nurtured in a home that was encouraged.” (Moolman, 1980, p. 107) They had a good family upbringing, but moved frequently. When he was twelve years old, Wright's family settled in Madison, Wisconsin where he attended Madison High School. During summers spent on his Uncle James Lloyd Jones' farm in Spring Green, Wisconsin, Wright first began to realize his dream of becoming an architect. In 1885, he left Madison without finishing high school to work for Allan Conover, the Dean of the University of Wisconsin's Engineering department. The history of flying dates back as early as the fifteenth century. A Renaissance man named Leonardo da Vinci introduced a flying machine known as the ornithopter. Da Vinci proposed the idea of a machine that had bird like flying capabilities. Today no ornithopters exist due to the restrictions of humans, and that the ornithopters just aren’t practical. During the eighteenth century a philosopher named Sir George Cayley had practical ideas of modern aircraft. Cayley never really designed any workable aircraft, but had many incredible ideas such as lift, thrust, and rigid wings to provide for lift. In the late nineteenth century the progress of aircraft picks up. Several designers such as Henson and Langley, both paved the way for the early 1900’s aircraft design. Two of the most important people in history of flight were the Wright Brothers. The Wright brothers grew up in West Dayton, Ohio, and ever since they were children they were destined for greatness. Wilbur Wright was born on April 16, 1867, in Millville, Indiana, and Orville was born four years later in Dayton, Ohio, on August 19 (Kelly 5). The brothers’ parents were Milton and Susan Wright, and their siblings consisted of two older brothers and one younger sister (Weir 5). Almost as instantly as they were conscious of having their own interests, Wilbur and Orville were extremely intrigued in mechanics (Kelly 5). In fact, one of Orville’s most clear memories from his childhood was his fifth birthday where he received a gyroscopic top that could maintain its balance while at the same time spinning on the edge of a knife blade (Kelly 5). It has increased the job rate, boosted the economy, created cultural diversion, and created less pollution than most means of travel. Orville Wright once said, “The airplane stays up because it doesn't have time to fall.” The airplane never did fall and excelled in everything it did, not falling once. The airplane, one of the most important inventions created in the 20th century, impacted travel ways across the world.
