This was the same thing for pitbulls as they were a respected breed, until myths spread that ruined their reputation. Pitbulls have been restricted or banned in many cities, states, and countries. Pitbulls should be pets because of dishonest bias, and these dogs are trainable. One reason is that the media has portrayed pitbulls as dangerous animals that always bite people around them, even though they do not talk about the other dog attacks. It has gotten so bad, that if a dog of an unknown breed attacks someone, people instantly jump to the conclusion that it is a pitbull. The general public often avoid pitbulls everywhere they go, and believe a stereotype from the media that all pitbulls attack. People blindly listen to these obviously biased pieces of media and believe it.To conclude this, news reports and articles show unfair treatment towards pitbulls and it has caused people to show bitterness towards pitbulls. Second, pitbulls are completely trainable. A blog titled, “The Pit Bull Debate”, writes, “A dog is only as dangerous as the owner allows it to be” (Murray, 1). Furthermore, the dogs behavior is completely the owner's fault. All of the actions of the pitbull, or any dog in general, happen due to the owner’s negligence. To sum it up, attacks from pitbulls are not the breed itself, they are the guidance of the dog. Some people argue that people who constantly break laws or are criminals own pitbulls. However, these are only stereotypes, and they ignore the fact that some of these pitbulls make good herding dogs. Some of them are even registered therapy
