All my life I have been taught to not do drugs. I had been friends with Sarah all my life. We were such close friends because we believed in all the same things. We went and did everything together. We had made tons of “pinky promises” and “swears”. But there was one promise above all the others. That promise was that we would never do any sort of drugs, and I believed her. One day, I was walking down the sidewalk going to the Pizza Pro. I came to an alley and just happened to look down it. What I saw was my best friend, Sarah, crouched down crying. I ran to her side and asked her what was wrong. She told me that she had broken a promise. I told her it was alright and that she could tell me anything. She then went onto say that she had went to a party and a couple of guys had gotten her drunk and tricked her into taking marijuana. I was shocked. The one thing we had promised never to do, she had done. I knew it wasn't her fault, the guys had tricked her, but still. I didn't know if I could ever look at her the same again. She then told me that she was addicted. That one time she had made a mistake, she had gotten hooked, and she couldn't stop. I knew that she needed help. I told her that she needed to go to a rehabilitation center to get the medical attention she needed. I admit it, she was a little skeptical about it at first, but once she gave it some thought, she knew it was for the best. So, we found her the center available at the time. We got her checked into Dierks Health and Rehab in the next few weeks. She wasn't happy at first, but she slowly learned to like it. They put her in a ward with teenagers just like her. She slowly, but surely, got better and better. I loved watching her grow stronger and healthier every day. I would go and visit her every afternoon after school.
