One of the reasons students should have uniforms because it ameliorates professionalism and intensifies their reputation. Uniform can also teach students to abide by policies and rules ("Top 10 Reasons School Uniforms Should Be Mandatory"). When a person gets a job, they need to follow the rules of their office. Uniforms have proven to improve the skills of rule following and abiding the polices in students. The skills they learn in school would be helpful to them to follow the rules and not lose their job and helping create a good image of themselves. What a student wears may sound trivial however it is worth the investigation because it is changing the American public education system.
School uniforms should be mandatory in all schools. Enforcing school uniforms will make outsiders more identifiable thus creating a safer academic environment for students. The attire will also reduce competition among students and their clothing choices. Additionally, they will prompt students to feel pride, respect, and spirit towards their school. School uniforms should generate equality and unity, create an improved learning environment, and decrease bullying amongst the students.
It is a great idea for schools to implement a policy on school uniforms because statistics show that students who wear uniforms make better grades. Additionally, male students are not distracted by what female students are (or aren't) wearing. Moreover, students feel a sense of fairness with one another as they are all wearing the same things. When students are at one with one another, their confidence soars, which leads to better academic performance. Student uniforms help reduce the amount of bullying, and students who would normally be bullied now have a much better disposition while at school.

The last, and possibly the most important reason why I believe school uniforms are necessary is for social equality. School uniforms reduce the stress children feel when trying to fit in with their peers. Without them, some children may be alienated because their economic background reflects the clothes they wear.

Many people believe that school uniforms build the community into a safer, more positive environment. School uniforms improve school academics, prevent gang violence, and assist families, who can not afford expensive clothing.
By requiring school uniforms in public schools, education will be improved. A dress code will enforce discipline toward learning. Uniforms improve a person’s outlook toward success. Students generally act the way they are dressed. With fewer distractions, students see the school as a workplace for teaching and learning. Students also have less stress in their lives because they are not in a fashion competition. Dress codes also lead to a change in grades. Mainly this happens because the student’s attendance comes up. There is also a change in grades because it is easier to focus when everyone looks alike.
For instance, when students graduate High School, most of them will work in a job that has uniforms; therefore, they cannot complain that their uniforms are uncomfortable and useless. Meanwhile, proponents say that school uniforms make schools safer for students, diminish economic, social barriers, and encourage children to focus on their studies rather than their clothes.
A major reason that schools should have uniforms is because students will get along better. They wouldn’t compare each other based on whose wearing what. This is opposed to a school with no uniform some students will feel inferior to the one’s wearing brand name clothes. Also uniforms lower the chances of jealousy between the students. The students would feel more unified with each other. There are thousands of kinds of uniforms in the world worn by people, such as police officers, firefighters, doctors, lawyers, security guards, and even fast-food restaurant workers. School uniforms are a controversial issue in schools today. Many schools have already adopted a policy mandating school uniforms, while many more are still considering the change.
