Rainbowland is the name of my country. It is in East Jamaica. Lately, in my country my citizens have been arguing over which religion should be the main religion. I have chosen that Christianity should be the main and only religion in my country because there is a god, and his son Jesus died for our sins.
My first reason for picking Christianity for my country is the 10 Commandments because they are like laws in the bible that my citizens must follow. The 10 Commandments are in the book of Exodus 20:2-17. A couple examples of the Commandments are “ I am the LORD your God who brought you get out of the land of Egypt, and etc. There is also one more 10 Commandments in the bible it is in the book of Deuteronomy 5:6-21. The 10 Commandments are like laws that my citizens must follow.
My second reason for picking Christianity is because when you die you go to heaven or hell. If you are good you will go to heaven, but if you're bad you are going to hell. First believers will be taken into the presence of christ in heaven. The book that tells you if you're going to heaven or hell is Acts 1;2;3:21.1. Another book is Thess 1:10 4:16,2. That is the other book in the bible that tells you if you’re going to heaven or hell. That's the reasons why I picked Christianity for my country because all of my are going to heaven or hell.

According to the Encyclopedia Brittanica “there are three figure units of God which are God the father, God the son, and God the holy spirit.” In the Encyclopedia Britannic “it’s a core that Christians must follow, and they are God is above all things, love one another, and to be forgiving, humble, and kind.” Those are my reason for picking Christianity because my citizens will read the bible, and they will find out about God and Jesus. They will find about all the wonderful things they have
Christ/God, the love and kindness, or the good, that the Christian religion conveys, or the inner happiness and the peace of mind, or the reward, that the person would inevetably achieve by following the word of Christ.
The Ten Commandments are the first ten of the six hundred and thirteen commandments given by God to the Jewish people. The Ten Commandments built a foundation for Jewish ethics, behavior, and responsibility, which are still followed in numerous religions to this day. The Ten Commandments
In the Light of Reverence is a film about the destruction and exploitation of the sacred lands of the people who have worshipped them for years: the Native Americans. Freedom of religion is something Americans take pride in. However, many religions are still looked down upon for their practices which is displayed clearly in this film. It upsets me greatly to hear how ignorant many people are about the Native American religion. They call the prayer bundles “dirty laundry” and say nature has no “similarities with the church at all” (In the Light of Reverence). Religion has never had a specific definition. All religions have different practices and themes. It just so happens that Native Americans practice their religion in regard to nature. Nature is sacred land to Native Americans and as one women said in the film, “you can’t have a religion without the land” (In the Light of Reverence). Native Americans have always believed that natural world is holy. Destroying the Earth will never lead to world peace (Lyons 11). I agree with the Native Americans that we need to have more respect for the Earth we live on. Chief Oren Lyons said in his essay, “we need to learn how to respect nature” (Lyons 6). If we keep treating the
Logically, it only makes sense to go into the faith that most others have gotten into, with the largest followings and one of the oldest formations.
According to Aristotle, ownership of tangible goods can help to develop one’s moral character. I agree with his philosophy. Owning an object or other goods helps one to discover certain virtues, such as responsibility or purpose in caring for what you own. All objects you own, you must acquire, either through purchasing or through gift. Depending on how you acquire the object, defines its value, either monetary or sentimental. These different values help to develop one’s sense of self, as one grows as a person and develops one’s moral character. By learning these important skills, such as responsibility and purpose, one has a better understanding of oneself.
Faith groups and institutions should not be allowed to form political parties and they should not attempt to gain influence in the workings of government for their views and values by entering the realm of political discourse and attempting to elect their own politicians.
With so many other religions in the world, I use to ask myself why so many people would choose to be a part of the Christian church instead of the Catholic or Buddhist. But, now I know why and that is because everyone wants to live in a world where there is love and peace all around and that is exactly what the Christians believe in. The only trouble is finding that right path to God. The only way to do that is if people have faith and trust that Jesus is the Savior (Messiah). He loved us so much that he died for all of our sins. He is now the Holy Spirit that will direct to that path heading towards God.
The Society Religion as a Social Glue The view in the title is a functionalist’s view. Durkheim claims that religion is to do with the sacred and certain things, people and places are perceived to be sacred for example Jesus Christ, totem and the Tajmahal. He claims that what people perceive to be sacred are actually symbols of a collective consciousness. By worshipping these sacred things etc. they are actually reinforcing the beliefs, values, norms and tradition which make social life possible.
Christianity teaches that there is merely one God in all existence and that God created the universe. It also teaches that Jesus is the only way to be set free from the coming judgment of God and that Jesus desires his values and his standards to abound. Moreover, Christianity is the only religion that
In the year of 2003 there are many types of religions that are practiced in the United States, which involves a God, or a divine power. My personal preference of religion is Christianity. I believe in Jesus Christ and the all mighty God Jehovah. The characteristics of a God varies from religion to religion, but all leading up to love, an everlasting peaceful life, and salvation; therefore, giving strength to all human beings that believe in them and has faith in them.
For the first reason why my country should have Christianity is for the Ten Commandments. One example is “Thou shalt not kill.”That can help with less murders in the country. “Thou shalt not steal.”That can help with less stealings in stores and peoples houses. The Ten Commandments can help our country to be safe and respectful. The Ten Commandments will be like the rules you follow
That free will alone allows a follower of Christianity to make that decision for themselves and then, if they allow the Grace of God, to open the door for further freedom of accepting other notions within the Church. This idea of freedom differs from the previously mentioned religions of Hinduism and Buddhism because Christianity views freedom as a single part of their follower’s journey in becoming a Christian. In contrast, Hinduism and Buddhism view freedom as the ideal end for a follower—everything they strive to achieve, religiously. There are many denominations under the umbrella of Christianity, that do differ from one another, and to add to that, they are also treated differently as well. Christianity, in general, is the most popular in the Western World, where Catholicism specifically is thriving.
Student ID number – s1642219 Sovereignty The Merriam- Webster defines sovereignty as “unlimited power over a country” OR “A country's independent authority and the right to govern itself “. There are two concepts of sovereignty: Political concept and Religious concept. The political concept of sovereignty is based on inherent and limited conditions of power, while religious sovereignty is based on the omnipotence of God. Thus occurs a conflict between the two types sovereignty’s to attain power and rule the world.
It is natural for countries to follow a dominate religion that is practiced within their country without considering the religions that are less dominate in their country. Many countries will not consider the religions in which participates do not practice a religion or the participates believe that there is more than one god. A couple of examples of these types of religions are Janina and Sikh which are less dominate religions that are not often practices by the majority population. Many of us would follow society’s way of following or practicing the majority religion instead of following our own paths with our own version of how religion should be practiced. Being a part of a religion that is not considered the majority may leave an individual feeling as if they have no one to confine in and that they are all alone.
Religion is the one element of life that has connected the races and societies of the world for hundreds of years. It has given meaning to lives that may seem otherwise hopeless. Religion has provided for a universal language and culture among those who believe in a higher power. The spirit or being receiving the worship and praise may not be the same, but the practices are usually similar and serve the same purpose--to give direction, insight, courage, and a divine connection.
