Participation, Involvement, and knowledge all contribute to what makes a good citizen. A big privilege in the United states is given the opportunity to make a difference by voting for the next future president. Every United States citizen that is able to vote should go out and have their voice be heard. Being a citizen gives one the right to vote, so why not make a difference for the nation. Based on the past several years, voting demographics seem to continually remain the same with little to no change. For being a nation known for freedom, we are one of the lowest in voter turnout compared to many other countries. Voter turnout can be increased by an easier voting process and registration
The voting process in the United States can be difficult because election day is only one day. Many people are extremely busy and are unable to go out and vote. The process of voting is also a strict process. Given one day to go out to vote does not give the opportunity for people to have their voices heard. Mail-in ballots are the other option for voting, but in many states, there are several restrictions. Having an easier voting process will give more people the availability to vote. Everyone likes to do things in a simpler manner, so why not have voting process made for it to be easier for everyone?
Absentee ballots: Absentee voting can help more people to vote. With an absentee ballot, people are able to drop off their votes through mail or in person. Many people are unable to attend to vote so giving them the opportunity to vote on their own time is extremely beneficial. Many states have restrictions for people that are able to apply for an absentee ballot, most requiring a specific excuse. If all states allowed
