Online school has become a great alternative for people who cannot attend a brick and mortar school. Getting an online education is very valuable; nonetheless, it comes with advantages and disadvantages.
People with busy schedules find it difficult to attend college. Many look for a way to finish a degree that works with their busy lives and online school is the perfect solution. Another drawback is that not every student is computer savvy; I know that when I first took an online course it took me some time to get in the flow and understand how it works. Taking online classes require a lot of self-discipline; some people lose the drive and dedication through the term and may procrastinate since there are no set schedules of attendance. However, when a student takes an online class the student and professor are at a disadvantage of building an interpersonal relationship. For example, a professor is unable to read the nonverbal cues of a struggling student through a computer screen or is unable to tell if a student is experiencing a true emergency. Just as, a student is unable to read their professors nonverbal cues that a particular chapter or assignment is vital to passing the course. I have taken classes on campus and online classes for three semesters now and have learned that regardless of class format a student needs to be dedicated, structured, self-motivated and not afraid to ask questions. A disadvantage of taking an online class is if a web portal is not working properly.
Online courses require self-motivation and discipline in order to be successful. The true benefits of online courses are that you have the flexibility to work them in your life schedule and can take them at your own pace within reason. Therefore from my personal experience I highly support online learning over brick and mortar traditional learning. When I started taking online classes it was because I could not fit a fulltime class load into my fulltime working schedule. It is the convenience of online cl...
One of the major advantages of an online degree program is the flexibility it provides to someone working a demanding job, living geographically removed from a college campus, or that simply finds it most convenient for a host of other reasons. These challenges of the modern workforce have in fact been the big driver behind the exponential rise in online degree programs over the past decade. Furthermore, the flexibility provided by an online degree program enables tailoring a program matched to personal learning style and pace.
There are many advantages to online learning, it affects the way people can learn. School has been in our lives for the longest time and it has always been a positive experience. It sets students on a path to achieve their education goal and stepping stones to a career! Now with all the advancements in life, students have the opportunity to do online classes. This is useful if the pupil is not able to attend school or their school does not offer some classes that they would like to take. Experiencing both of these ways of schooling, I have an understanding of the differences between the two. The major differences between online school and traditional school are the flexibility opportunities, the communication with the teachers, and the time management/discipline from the learner.
There are likely going to be struggles when it comes to online school programs. There may be technical problems that might pop up at the beginning of a course or challenges related to a professor who doesn’t have a readily available office or office hours. This may stress some students

Although traditional education and online education have the same goal, they are still divergent. Traditional education requires the student’s presence in class, unlike the online classes that is defined as an education process between instructors and their students in independent locating. Instructors will need to undergo retraining for them to be competent and it can be costly. It is also expensive to purchase the latest softwares or programs needed to provide online education. Today’s generation is like no other. The nation as a whole has completely evolved from past times, with technology being one of the greatest improvements. Traditionally, schooling takes place in a classroom setting, but, with the many modifications in our world’s system, we are able to assimilate more modern means of education, such as online learning. However, with many changes comes differences and requires adjustments. The online learning system has proven to be just as effective as traditional learning, with some minor differences, however, nothing of great significance. A few of those insignificant differences include online learning being convenient, especially for the non-traditional students,

In fact, more students and educational institutions should accept and implement more internet-based activities and classes.
Online learning, also known as distance learning or online learning, has become a new and successful means of receiving an education in a highly technologically enhanced environment (Regan, Evmenova, Baker, Jerome, Spencer, Lawson, & Werner, 2012). Kaymak and Horzum (2013) defined online learning as using Internet technology to gain knowledge and skills through the use of synchronous and asynchronous learning tools. Allen and Seaman (2013) stated that about 6.7 million students attending colleges and universities across the United States were successfully enrolled in at least one online course in 2011. There is an increased interest in online learning that continues to grow as a result of the amplified demands from the work place and the escalating availability of nontraditional educational options and providers (Allen & Seaman, 2008).
As technology has advanced, education has evolved alongside it. Instead of the typical learning in classrooms, students today are able to pursue their education through computers and the internet. Even though online education lacks the same social interaction as classroom learning, online education is just as good as, if not better than, classroom learning because it puts more focus on the individual student while being more flexible and accessible.
Those who disagree with me think that online learning allows a student to learn at their own pace.
