Why Was Queen Elizabeth I Considered A Great Leader

Suleiman, Nelson Mandela, and Queen Elizabeth I were considered the greatest leaders of all human history. These three leaders caused a tremendous amount of diversity, innovation, and development in their area of rule. Suleiman was a fantastic architect who built a vast amount of structures for the greatly powerful Ottoman Empire, also Suleiman was a brilliant warrior military leader, leading his men into battle with no fear while striking terror into his enemies hearts. Nelson Mandela was a brilliant orator of his time and managed to unite the black’s of South Africa and go against what was call “white domination”. Queen Elizabeth was extremely intelligent and often is referred to as the leader of the “Golden Age of Britain” because she enormously

expanded the British Empire all around the globe. These reasons helped shape what is now referred to as, South Africa, Great Britain, and the Ottoman Empire.
To start off, Suleiman was a brilliant architect of his time, building many important buildings for the Ottoman Empire.

During Suleiman’s reign he added many new rooms to his palace and allowed it to be a place for eating, training soldiers, and many more to his palace(Source 1). This allowed his palace to be more than a place for Suleiman just to live by himself and with his servants. It created a new bond with his soldiers, his servants, and his people that was never seen before. Not only was he a fantastic architect, he was also a brilliant warrior. He conquered all enemies that lay before him with skill and ease. For example, when the Ottomans were involved in a battle against the Hungarians, Suleiman devised a excellent plan to crush the Hungarians. He allowed them to break through the front lines of his army, then shortly after he got troops to completely surround and attack the Hungarians from all sides leaving the Hungarians completely and utterly

hopeless.
Next on the list, Nelson Mandela was an excellent orator of his time, uniting the people of South Africa to unite against what was know as “white domination”(Source 2). On May 10, 1994 Nelson Mandela took the oath of office as president of South Africa thus ending the reign of white leaders and creating a new era for South Africans. During Mandela’s lifetime he spent an extremely long time fighting non-stop for racial equality between whites and blacks. He spent time in prison because at every opportunity he spoke out against racism, uniting the black’s of South Africa and making the country feel whole. During Mandela’s time in prison there were massive riots going on with people saying “Free Mandela!”. In an attempt to calm the people down the white political leaders tried to release Mandela from his cell early but he declined because he wanted to leave when there was true equality in South Africa. This kept the riots going on and the political leaders in confusion trying to calm the people down. This shows how Nelson Mandela was a great leader because he never lost hope for his cause no matter how atrocious the conditions are for him.
Last but not least, Queen Elizabeth I greatly expanded the British Empire and economy all around the world diversifying income and adding influence onto other countries(Source 3).

The Elizabethan Era is the “Golden Age of Britain” where education soared and income started flowing into Britain. Queen Elizabeth was extremely intelligent, able to speak a vast amount of languages. She also increased Scientific thinking in Britain, allowing new technologies to be created as well as new British navy ships that destroyed the huge Spanish Armada that was considered unstoppable. She was a very independent ruler because usually Queens at this time would get married and let their husbands do all of the work for them while they just have babies, but Queen Elizabeth decided not to get married and do what she felt was right at the time and it worked extravagantly in her favor. She also sent many explorers to the new land to conquer it and add the land to the ever growing British Empire. These lands would eventually become the 13 colonies and make Britain a fortune (Until the colonies rebel). Queen Elizabeth was a fantastic ruler because she added new science and technology to Great Britain and she explored many unknown

lands.
To end, Suleiman The Magnificent, Nelson Mandela, and Queen Elizabeth were great rulers for many reasons. Suleiman was a excellent warrior and architect. Nelson Mandela knew how to unite his people and have them fight for a cause together. Queen Elizabeth was a brilliant scholar who created many new opportunities for Great Britain that would last many years to come. These rulers exhibited characteristics of great leaders in many ways by expanding all of their countries and expanding all aspects of life.
