People nowadays always say to have an open mind and say not to make quick judgements. Society feels as though any form of negativity is judgement. The problem with this perspective is that it is not at all true. Seldom outsiders are misunderstood, it just depends on why they are outsiders. It is all based off of the circumstances, so there is no definite answer. For example, in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, the main characters are looked down upon, but it is understandable why they are like that because they had hard lives. However, a serial killer has no excuse, those kinds of people should be outcasts and should be locked in prison so they cannot cause further harm.
