My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it’s the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact that school is closed for two months. During summer, you’re free to do whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply having dinner together.
I love the hot and humid days that makes you want to dive into a fresh and cold pool. When summer time starts, you can wear lighter clothes, which are much more comfortable. The weather allows people to go outdoors to do fun activities. You wake up in the morning to the sun beaming in your room, birds chirping, and the aroma of the delicious food that is cooking downstairs. The outdoors are alive with the freshness of the air, the smell of flowers and a freshly mowed lawn. During the warm summer nights, you can sit outside on your porch and chat with your neighbo...
In Pigeon Forge you have nice hot summers and cold snowy winters. It also rains allot, which is nice since I enjoy rainy weather. During the winters, the mountains surrounding Pigeon Forge are capped with snow and in the spring the snow melts and creates beautiful streams which run down the mountain into rivers. These are some of the most beautiful attractions in Pigeon Forge and one of my favorite things to go see when we vacation there. " Every season in Pigeon Forge is a beautiful work of art that only a perfect God could create."
In the realistic fiction novel It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han, the main character, Belly, learns that anything you want really badly can wait for you, which in her case, was marriage. This is shown all throughout the book, but is especially stressed by her bad decisions in the beginning of the book, and her final decision at the end. Belly has been going to Cousins Beach ever since she can remember, and all this time she has only loved one person: Conrad Fisher. But, when he breaks her heart, she ends up getting into a serious relationship with his brother, Jeremiah, and he asks her to marry him, she really wants to, but doesn’t know is she can. Either way, someday, she will end up becoming Belly Fisher. The first time this theme is introduced, it is very early on, when he first asks her for her hand. They are only
During the spring time the weather was rainy but warm. The summer time was hot and dry with the occasional rain. Fall was a time of cool and dry weather. With maybe some rain or snow.
In “What lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why?” Edna St. Vincent Millay says that “the summer sang in me” meaning that she was once as bright and lively as the warm summer months. In the winter everyone wants to bundle up and be lazy, but when summer comes along the sunshine tends to take away the limits that the cold once had on us. She uses the metaphor of summer to express the freedom she once felt in her youth, and the winter in contrast to the dull meaningless life she has now. There are many poets that feel a connection with the changing of seasons. In “Odes to the West Wind” Percy Bysshe Shelley describes his hopes and his expectations for the seasons to inspire the world.
Another significant reason is summer vacation needs to be longer. The primary reason for this is children need time to wind down and relax before they have to go back to school. For instance, during the summer children relax and prepare for school, if they...
We’ll Always Have Summer written by Jenny Han is the third book in the summer trilogy, the first being The Summer I Turned Pretty and the second It’s Not Summer Without You. As many would have guessed after reading the book titles, it’s a story about summer love, which eventually turns into a life-long love. It’s a story about a girl named Isabella Conklin, or “Belly” for short, who is caught in a very tough situation. She’s in love with two different boys, who just happen to be brothers. We’ll Always Have Summer takes place during the character’s college years and Belly is now attending the same college as one of the brothers named Jeremiah Fisher, who she has now been dating for two years now, but when she finds out he had cheated on her during one of their small breakup periods she begins to question everything. Jeremiah then asks eighteen year old Isabella to marry him and surprisingly she accepts. But as the couple struggle to get support and continue on planning the wedding, the first brother, Conrad Fisher confesses that he’s still in love with her and wants her to marry him instead. The whole book is just a huge whirlwind of emotions. In the end, the book boils down to Belly finally making her choice – will it be Jeremiah or will it be Conrad?
The summertime is when kids play outside and do whatever they want. Some kids even go to day care or their friends’ house to do something different, “Many children go to summer camps where they learn many of important skills not covered in school” (Cooper 3). Doing work in the summer that does not interest them will make kids despise summer. It also will not let the kids do want they want to do in peace, because they will worry about the huge assignment they still have to finish, “…the backbreaking obligation to read Charles Dickens blighted June, ravaged July obliterated August” (Queenan,1). Some might argue that the long summer will make the children forget what they learned, but if the students cannot relearn what they already knew in a month or less, that means that they are not being taught correctly. In general, summer reading makes a students' summer into more school time, which is not helpful to them.
The third reason I love West Virginia is because we are blessed with a variety of seasons. These beautiful seasons include; spring, summer, fall, and winter. In the spring I love to watch nature as life renews itself all around me. In the summer I love the warm weather as I take a dip in the calm lake. During the fall I love to watch the leaves change colors as I walk through the woods.
Spring is portrayed as painfully quick in its retirement; "Her early leaf's a flower,/ But only so an hour.". Most would associate summer as a season brimming with life, perhaps the realization of what began in spring.... ... middle of paper ... ... Every major religion has some concept of impurity.
The body seems to be slower. Motivation to do anything takes a hit. In fact, in a survey taken in Maryland, over 90% of the people surveyed reported that they noticed a change in mood, behavior, and energy levels with the change of seasons.... ... middle of paper ...
When I was a kid, there were few things I looked forward to more than summer vacation. I couldn’t wait to laze around in the sun, sleep in and play all day. I got to spend time with my friends and my cousins at our family’s lake cabin up north. I had the opportunity to attend a Christian summer camp one year. I spent a week at Flaming Pine Youth Camp where we were not allowed to wear shorts, sleeveless shirts or walk to the beach without a cover up.
In my opinion, winter is the best season. First winter is beautiful, there’s a lot snow in winter, it’s very nice when they fall very slowly. Secondly, Christmas and New Year is coming in winter, so you can do many stuff about the holiday, and most stores will be discounting. Winter is fun either, you can play with snow like snow fighting and build a snowman! Also, you can do some winter sports. That’s why I think winter is the best
If I had to choose my favorite season it would be a very difficult choice. All four seasons are unique in their own special way, such as the climate, scenery, and activities. Although I enjoy the warmer months of summer, I also enjoy the cooler months of winter. In a sense, I have narrowed my favorite seasons down to two; summer and winter.
When the term seasons come to mind, most people think of the four major weather seasons; summer, fall, winter, and spring. But, within these four, there are far more interesting seasons to notice and associate with that specific time of year. For example, the first part of the year tends to yield many blushing brides vowing to a lifelong commitment and friendship with their groom and therefore is considered wedding season. Similar seasons are wound throughout the year such as football season, engagement season, and swimsuit season, but the most wonderful time of the year is by far the holiday season. For many reasons, the holiday season, the time ranging from Thanksgiving to New Years, brings a feeling of togetherness and joy that simply is
My favorite summer vacation was when my Father took me to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. What made it even more memorable was the fact that it was my very first time on an airplane. I cannot recall another time in my life when I experienced so much joy. That trip to Universal Studios was the first time my Father and I actually did something together, just the two of us and was something brought me close to my Father. In this essay I will tell you about my plane ride over there, what I did right when I got there, and about my time at Universal Studios.
