In the outsiders it has violence and also life lessons but do you think it's appropriate to read? The outsiders is mostly about two gang’s one of them are the greasers and the other one’s are the soc,The socs jumped the greasers.I believe the novel the outsiders should be banned in schools because it has to many violence, too much inappropriate language in the novel, and knives, drinking, killing, murders. The novel the outsiders should be banned because it has violence things that happens in the novel. “But dally, heaters kill people’’,kill em with switchblades to, dontcha?” This quote states that the characters in the book are really dangerous. All this violence should not be told to kids, teens. Another reason why the outsiders should
After finishing the book, this book should not be in the banned books. This book has strong language for a younger child to read. it shows what can happen to teenagers, what students will do with drugs, and it has a strong message for older teens. For younger readers, this book carries very strong language but it has a strong message. One of those is that it shows what students will do with drugs.

middle of paper ... ... I believe that Catcher In The Rye needs to be partially banned. By that, I mean that its contents possess very mature themes that children under the age of 12 probably should not be exposed to in public schools. Now if their parents want to let them read it on their own, then that is none of the school’s or anyone else’s concern.
...ves to be on the banned books list because of its level of violence. One that wants this book off the banned books list could say that violence is everywhere, why should one book be banned for showing something that is everywhere in todays society. I think this book shows a good concept of war. It could open ones mind to the idea of war and how one is forced to fight for themself and even their country. In the book they fight for themself and their district but relating it to the readers life he or she can think of it as fighting for themselves and their country. Which I believe is a good concept for young teenagers to be exposed to. I think this book should be off the banned books list because there are many reasons The Hunger Games can be considered a “good” book, it portrays many good themes throughout the novel and it can be translated into modern day war.
With the thought that someone can be hurt by reading a book, people will try to challenge and ban them. To ban a book is to have it restricted from a certain age or audience. Banning and challenging books is trying to keep a certain book away from an audience due to sexual content, going against religious beliefs, language and vulgarity, violence, drugs, self-harm, racism, occult/satanic views, promoting gangs, and going against community standards. An argument from someone who believes books should not be banned is that it is important for the age group to learn about certain content and material as they grow up. Due to controversial content, the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald should be banned.
Such issues have supplemented the controversial nature of the book and in turn, have sparked the question of whether or not this book should be banned. The novel, The Catcher In the Rye, should not be banned from inclusion in the literature courses taught at the high school level. & nbsp;... ... middle of paper ... ... Banning books is unconstitutional.
The Outsiders is a novel by S.E Hinton, that follows a young boy named Ponyboy who grows up in a gang. Johnny, Sodapop and Darry help him find how he fits into the world and without them he would have a hard time finding his own identity. Without having a close group of friends he would have a tough way of life, especially with the Socs. Being in a group that you associate with, that have different values to yourself can lead you to disregard your own ethics and do things you wouldn’t normally do, but at the same time this can assist and reinforce your own values…
To conclude, only at a certain time do I think that books should be banned from students at school. Only students in high school that are in the 11th grade or higher should be able to read a book like “The Catcher in the Rye”. There is no way that any student below that should be forced to read a book like that before that age. A younger student would act immature about it, and go around saying those words because they would think it is alright to do that because it was in the book they read. So to eliminate that from happening, I think that the book should be censored. I know that one day this will be the case and I know that most people would agree with me on this matter.
To Kill a Mockingbird does not need to be banned. people need to open their eyes to the truth, there is evil all around us. Harper Lee shows us that evil through the eyes of a little girl and teaches us how to respond to that evil. To kill a mockingbird is wrong because they don’t do us any harm, they just share their music with us. To ban To Kill a Mockingbird is wrong because it doesn’t harm anyone, it simply opens up our eyes to truths we need to know.
Some people feel The Outsiders should be banned because of language and the theme of adolescents on their own (Sarah Reads 2). The story also has a lot of violence scenes that some feel are too extreme for young readers. Some of the book’s content is inappropriate for minors, and servers as a way teens should act out towards their parents (Sarah Reads 3). The story has many references to sex, drugs, fighting, start of gangs, being disrespectful, and using foul language. As a cause of the author, S.E. Hinton allowing these things to be
Ever wondered what it was like in the 60’s? The Outsiders is the perfect book. It shares what it’s like being a soc and the different lives of different greasers. You get to peer into the life of Ponyboy Curtis and see his troubles as a 14 year old hood. In this essay, I share with you my thoughts on some of the characters and how i relate to them.
At the beginning the Outsiders was just a story with the fight and tension between the Greasers and Soc’s. In the story there is conflict between the families of the greasers and pony gets fed up so he runs away and in the process they kill a SOC, named Bob, so they run away to a church and hide than once they leave and come back to the church it is burning and Ponyboy and Johnny help save kids trapped in the church. But johnny gets hurt and dies. Than because of sadness Dally gets killed by cops on purpose. Than after the book, with the director named Francis Ford Coppola, they made the movie, The Outsiders. One question that many have asked is which is better? The movie or the book? From my perspective the book is better because in the book
In The Outsiders, violence is depicted during the story. Violence is depicted between the Greasers and the Socs. Their fighting and violence is very rough. Sometimes they have rumbles or the Socs will jump the Greasers. The Socs love to jump Greasers and do it for the fun of it. Violence is taught throughout the novel by showing the reader that fighting isn’t always good, but it can solve some things.
