We all know that parents hold a lot of responsible when it come to raising children. Parents are to show their children many things when it comes to growing up. We learn these things so that when we are coming of age in the real world with a job we know what to say, what not to say, and we know what not to do, and what to do. It's our parents responsibility to form us with the correct values as a young child. When we are old enough and are considered as minors we make our own decisions. At least 50% of people say that parents should be held responsible for the actions of their minors. I believe that Parents should not be held responsible for their minors crimes for many reasons. The main reasons why parents shouldn't be held responsible is because minors do things on their own free will, blaming the parent wont teach the minor anything, and they all know right from wrong. …show more content…
If a child of yours were to steal something such as a diamond ring, which would be considered as theft, or robbery and got caught. Why would you be held responsible for them stealing a ring at their own free will? It was their choice to steal the ring. If anything the parent should be upset and even disappointed with the child, however most parents would understand in the end that it was their child’s choice to steal that ring and they had absolutely nothing to do with
We need to give responsibility to our child because they are taking risk and assuming responsibility which often go hand in hand for Example “giving a child her first pocket knife at, say age 9 not only gives her the advantage of experiencing a little risk play with a sharp object. It signals that she’s responsible for keeping herself and other safer”. (Michael Ungal 28). In some case that experience allow to see them unsure about whether their child is competent enough to keep herself safe or responsibility freedom to play for our children alone and climber in the trees that allow advantage to take a good decision in grow up when we don’t say with it. Also when our children going to grow up is good decision too orient about your education because is one decision than they need to take, the parent don’t allow take decision about it, because when their children don’t take that thing they like or can be person frustrate in the future. For Example “when we have a lot of responsibility in our childhood or younger age all these responsibilities you had while younger were always like them”. (Michael Ungal
We are all children, and we must learn not to resent our parents because of their actions, but to accept them and understand why they are the way they are. Wilson -.
In the past, there have been many minors who have done numerous of acts in which they are punished in a reasonable manner. Just imagine if the parents of these children were put on trail instead of the minors. Why should a parent have to suffer the consequences for their child’s mistake, in which they probably had no idea what the child was doing.
Do you think juveniles should be held responsible for their actions? For many years, children have been sentenced to death without trial. Young people are not capable of making rational decisions. Hence, children are restricted from doing many things. For instance, children under the age eighteen are not allowed by law to vote, and work for a certain number of hours. However, when it comes to sentencing children as adults to the death penalty, it is not illegal. If children are viewed differently from adults by law, then why is that not the case when being trialed? Moreover, children are not yet matured to receive such punishments. Likewise, juveniles should not be sentenced to death, because they are still
once the minor has committed a violent crime, they are no longer a kid. The minor had the ability to know right from wrong, but he still chose to commit the heinous crime anyway. Choosing to commit this violent crime means that the minor chose to act as an adult and must be held accountable. Once the minor has made the decision to act as an adult, they must be treated as an adult. If we do not teach minors that what they did has consequences they will never learn. Arguments can be made that minors should not be treated as adults and while these arguments do have merit, they are not my beliefs. In my opinion, minors who commit violent crimes need to be tried as adults. Justice does not discriminate when it comes to age. Right is right, and wrong is wrong and the wrong should be punished equally.
In my opinion, parents are the result of a young person’s actions. Parents or caregivers have the biggest influence in their children's lives. I think that the way you raise your children will reflect who they become and their morals. Growing up, a child learns by copying what their parents do for example for me, I got the habit of biting my nails from my mother. Cooking, cleaning, driving, are taught to us by our parents, therefore; children learn to carry on those skills they learn and use them in the future.
Everything from me starting the car in the morning and not taking off, to me going to school everyday and so on. There are also irregularities in our daily responsibilities such as me having an English assignment on occasion or me having to get to guitar lessons. Every one of those things is a responsibility that if neglected will have a negative impact on all parties involved. If I don’t go to school, then my parents feel like they are neglecting me as a child and I am doomed for the streets, or they are given the headache of trying to discipline me, which despite all teenagers beliefs – discipline is not something that parents have fun giving out. Also, should I ever start the car in the morning and take off, my mother now has to walk to work, or call Dad.
Children who are under the influence of parental guidance tend to have better behavior and can distinguish between right and wrong. “Children placed in situations lacking parental guidance are six times as likely than those with parental guidance to have a high level of overall difficulties including, emotional issues, conduct disorders, and peer problems” (McGuire 2014). Children do not have to worry about the weight of responsibility because their parents take on that responsibility for them. Kids brought up in normal, loving environments behave in a more civilized manner and exhibit better etiquette than those who are placed in negative, harsh environments such as...
H. This issue is pretty touchy to me, because i could support both side of minor being put to death. I agree with if they do the crime, they can do the time, but at the same time they are just little kids and they do not know better. The way I see how this situation can change is that instead of holding the child responsible for the crime hold the parents in contempt. The reason I say this is because a study shown shows that most juvenile convicts come from a broken home. The old saying goes “monkey see, monkey do.” I believe if these children would have had the chance of growing up in a stable family upbringing, there is a good chance that they would have been upstanding citizens. So my belief may be torn apart on the subject, I'm am going to have to say that I am against the death penalty for minors, because i believe they don not know what they do, because of a lack of immaturity and lack of experience in life.
Parents are to be blamed to some extent too. They do not take the time to notice that their children are being teased and left out of everything because their kids do not tell them and they do not ask. Their parents are completely unaware that their own kids are hurting so bad inside that they are in their bedrooms planning murders and making bombs.
I do think it is wise to make parents accountable for their children actions but not their crimes. Just image having to go to jail for robbery or some other crime you did not commit. If our legal system held parents accountable for all their kid action until they are 18, there would be a lot of parents in jail because of their kids. All states have similar rule, but some have different rules. It is important that we not only know the law, but teach our children about the law, so they know the consequences if they chose to go out here and commit a crime. Vicarious liability “are based on the parent-child relationship” (Samaha, 2014, p.250). If all parents control their kids, there would be less juvenile crimes committed. I know a lot of parent are afraid of discipline their kids because of the Department of Social Service (DSS). I tell them if you “spare the rod, you spoil the child” (NKJV). We need to ensure that I kids know right from
An on going debate all over the world is being held about if parents should be legally responsible for their children’s behavior. This meaning when a child is charged for a crime they will not receive the punishment, instead the parents will. The parents’ receiving the punishment is the proper way to be handled. As children grow up, their behavior is influenced by who they socialize with each and every day. The main people they socialize with each day are their parents. A parent is the top model in a child’s life. Parents mold their children’s behavior into how they will act in the future. The parents teach their children from right to wrong and try their best to make sure they are always making the right choice. If a parent behaves in a certain manner, more than likely their children will end up doing the same actions. This is because a child is the reflection of their parents. The parents are the ones who set the right example. It is the parent’s accountability for how the children have been taught to behave. They learn their ways of behavior from their parents. The parents are the ones who are to give the children the proper guidance to become law obeying human beings. If the parents fail to correctly teach their children how to behave, then the children will behave negatively. The children behaving negatively could then lead them to disobey the law and any actions that follow that. All of the negative consequences of a child’s action can be avoided if the children have parents who positively teach them the right way to behave. Therefore, when it comes to unacceptable behavior such as breaking the law, parents have legal responsibility for their children’s behavior.
If parents are held accountable for the actions of their children does that send a message that the children themselves are blameless for their actions? My belief is that these two ideas are not mutually exclusive, and that children and parents can both be held liable. I see no reason why the children and the parents and the teens shouldn’t share in the responsibility for criminal behavior on the part of the child.
Children must be responsible for accepting the rules of the parents. Responsibility is the fact of being accountable for and making decisions without authorization. Having great responsibility will make someone successful in the task that they take or tasks that come to them. Parents, who worry about the child’s future, attempt to set good morals on their child. Of course, as good parents, they want to educate their children to always choose the right decision.
Parenting carries love, moral values, life skills, knowledge, traditional and so on to their children all the time. Most of the children practice the moral values, knowledge, and tradition which taught by their parents. In this way, most of them follow and believe in their parents’ word. Basically, children world views and mind were deeply shaped by their parents. Most of the children exercise what their parents practice. Children learn to make sense of what is going on around them by interact with their parents and surroundings. Through the “eyes” of their parents, they learn to see, think, question and look for answer which can satisfy them. If children were raised in a good or positive way, there is a very great probability that our society would be better off. Hence, from my point of view, parenting should be a privilege for a better future not only for the children it own but also our society.
