Q1. Why Should We Hire You?
I believe I am the best fit for the job because I have a passion for teaching. I grew up loving school and continue to love school at university because I am always learning new things. By pursuing the goal of teaching, I am able to return what I appreciated from my teachers and be able to teach kids new things like they taught me. I consider myself as a good communicator and easy to get along with. I am able to make connections with new people weather it be parents, teachers of students. I also have the ability to work in a team, as I used to play soccer, which revolves around working in a team and co-operating in a team. As well as this, I am currently completing a Bachelor of Teaching.

I have always wanted to do teaching since I stepped in a school. The best thing about teaching for me is the environment. School is a fun community where kids should enjoy their time and have fun while learning at the same time. The main reason why I want this job is to deliver and enjoyable and fun environment to students while they are learning and engaging with their work.
Q3. How well do you handle pressure? What would you do if a student was acting up?
I believe that I handle pressure quite well. I currently work at Mcdonald's and I am faced with high pressure situations daily. The days that I am store manager I need to control my fellow colleges with also keeping up with my responsibilities. These high pressure situations put me out of my comfort zone, but allow me to work on time management skills and communication skills. If I had a student that was acting up or was badly behaving I would try to treat him like I would treat a friend. I understand that not all kids like school, but I would do whatever I can to make it best for him.

For my article response assignment, I chose “The ABCs of Managing Teacher Stress.” In this article, it discusses the major stressors that come with being a teacher and how to decrease the stress so they do not become a statistic. The way the authors break up the article is by making three strategies: A is for acknowledgement, B is for behavior modification, and C is for communication. The article did not mention some stressors, including salary, little down time, constant paperwork, student test scores, and selflessness. Acknowledgement is the first strategy of the article and is the most important for successfully decreasing work-related stress.
Now that I have told you what has led me to this decision I would like to tell you exactly why I have chosen to become a teacher. I want to become a teacher not because of the salary nor because I want weekends and holidays off; rather, I want to become a teacher because I truly have a passion for making a difference in others lives. There are many different reasons in why I should be chosen to be staff on Velt, in which I will list below. Active: I can contribute countless hours to the server and well over the needed time. I do this to show that I am a dedicated loyal staff member who loves the community of Velt, and how I love to contribute as much as I can. Like I said before, 2-5 hours on weekdays, and 8-10 on weekends, the schedule can vary but is mostly the same and rarely changes.
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. The first main reason that I have chosen teaching as a profession is because I believe that it’s continuous rewards will help me to lead a happy and fulfilled life. For example, teaching young children is one of the few jobs in which you can give and receive hugs on a daily basis. Children have an innocence and a passion for knowledge that I find amazing and I do not feel complete unless I am around them. Teaching will help provide this fulfillment for me every day. I feel that in many other professions the day-to-day routine would become monotonous and boring, and I do not think that I would live a truly happy and fulfilled life unless I could be around children. I feel that a classroom provides many unique and dynamic opportunities every single day and I find that very appealing. Also, I am a very relationship-oriented person and I feel that I will enjoy building unique relationships with each child. I plan on knowing every child as thoroughly as possible because I feel that this will help me to be better at my job.
Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
There have been many factors that have inspired me to this career choice. Watching my teachers, both past and present, has inspired me to become a teacher. I have a genuine interest in lifelong learning and as such I have the desire to not only instil knowledge and values to others, but also encourage them to share my passion for learning. I enjoy when teachers make learning fun and I know I can be an affective teacher while making learning fun for all students. I must admit the summer off is very appealing although I know teachers put in many after hours during the school year. I didn’t do any homework, didn’t make good grades, and wasn’t very well behaved in her class. Teaching is a daunting task that I do not intend to take lightly. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine for several years. I always knew that teaching would be the career for me, especially when I began working in the school system as a substitute secretary. I loved working in the school environment; coming in contact with children everyday made me realize how much I would enjoy teaching a classroom full of students.
The academic pressure is one of the major stress factors in my life. The academic environment is very competitive and everyone wants to be the best. Not only are am I competing with my peers, I am also competing with myself. I always want to exceed my expectations. Which can cause me to become anxious at times. The academic pressure has many sublevels to it. Making excellent grades, homework, projects, essays, online work, class scheduling, exams, and many other aspects that are involved with school.
A big cause of academic pressure relates to students having poor time management. Students have to take into consideration the course load verse the time available as a stressful factor in academic pressure. My perception of course load positively correlates with exam stress and academic pressure. Problems with this stressor can also lead to all different kinds of side effects including depression which can contribute or interfere with effective study habits and as a result weaken academic achievement even more. Problems associated with this stressor can even lead or affect a student’s future. The competition for grades, and maintaining good grades and academic achievement not only can affect student’s career choices but can even create financial problems as a result of paying for tuition and expenses anyway even after not performing well academically. Weather you perform well or not, academically performance can affect students who are planning to apply for admission to graduate school while they struggle to excel. The same is true for those who need or are seeking scholarship funding or have no other choice
