The Turning Point
Why is respect so important? This is a hard question to fully answer, but I know that it is an important aspect of our lives. Below are some provided ideas and examples of the impact it has.
Respect gives us the feeling of authority. For example, to earn the respect of others, you treat them with a humble and helpful attitude, or with kindness. Ordinarily, this makes you feel good and happy you could help, or gives you a sense of pride. In the same way, you will most likely feel like you are in authority in that particular situation. People in my community are mostly respectful to one another. This is so important to know as a kid, because I need to know that my family and friends respect one another, because without it, nothing would be the same. It also helps us remember that when we

If you are the one being asked for help in a tough situation, it also shows us that someone is there who is humble enough and willing to ask us for help when they are having a hard time. That should make us show respect to them, too. Respect can be a feeling, or an action. The way you treat someone, or the little things, like helping your friend clean up a spilled mess, or just sitting next to someone who is alone. Respect is often a combination of kindness and thoughtfulness. Another example is the way we should interact with people in authority, such as police officers, firefighters, medics, judges, elected officials, and other people who make decisions that we may not agree with. Just because we do not always agree with someone, does not mean we can’t
Respect is a such a simple concept and a virtue that should be simple to follow. It means treating other people and animals in a dignified manner. Respect doesn’t mean that people need to hug everyone they come across or hold their opinion higher than everyone elses. Respect means treating others as equals and acknowledging that as human
Throughout my life, I have met countless role models (supervisors, co-workers, teachers, coaches, my parents) who push me harder and harder every single day so that I will succeed beyond belief in the changing world of today. Respect is also holding you up to an expectation that gets tougher and tougher because I am pushing myself harder. I will always have respect for all today, tomorrow, and the future
When I think of what respect means to me, my definition is: listening and being mindful of what someone is saying or doing. The dictionary on Google has respect listed as: “admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements” (Google). I have never associated with respect with admiring someone’s abilities, qualities, yet along their achievements. The two different mothers in the stories view respect differently as well.
Proper respect for others begins by a person respecting their self. Respect is developed by expressing honor, leadership, value, and trust in a person. If everyone respects everyone someday, the world will become a seventh heaven. It is important to be respectful for safety, to abide by the law, because children are influenced by their elders’ actions, and because God says so. Motivation from peers can help a person realize there is always room to improve the level of respect a person exhibits. Respect was, is, and always will be a positive attribute for everyone to strive for in their lives.
Respect to me is admiring someone for their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I think respect is always earned an can never be given. As soldiers soldiers we should always respect our peers because they have made the same sacrifice as us. But as soldiers we should have a higher level of respect for our NCOs because they have done their time an have earned it. Being respectful is not hard it is simple, just treat others the way we would like to be treated ourselves.
An example of this in adult nursing could be in a hospital, during personal care. If a patient is unable to complete their own personal care and hygiene due to physical difficulties, such as if they have suffered a stroke in the past, nurses will help them to complete the care. Respect is used by the nurses when carrying out this task by ensuring they are speaking kindly to the patient, ensuring they feel comfortable, and by receiving permission before performing any task. By gaining the patients permission, they will feel that they have a higher level of control of the care, will feel more respected, and they will begin to develop a trusting relationship with the nurses.
In three seperate dictionaries, respect is defined as a regard for or appreciation of the worth or value of someone or something. In my opinion, respect goes far beyond this definition. Respect is the cornerstone of the society in which we live. Although many look at respect as simply treating another person or thing with kindness, this word has many different aspects. For instance, I would not give an elder the same type of respect that I would give my peers or myself. Respect is not considered a neccessity in this world but, I can’t imagine a person getting very far in life without this virtue.
Have you ever held open a door for someone? This is a thoughtful act. I have helped and have had people help me when I have dropped my things and it made things easier for me because I had a helping hand. Helping someone in an inconvenience can turn their day around. Helping someone could make them happier. It could also make them more confident because they know someone was there to help them. It could also help them see some good in the world if they were sad or giving up. There are many other ways that helping someone during a time of need is important.
Respect is a behavior that shows another person moral and ethical acceptance. Showing respect for another, even when not deserved, is considered to be a good sign of breeding in times past, but now as where society has changed, dissing "show disrespect for" has become more accepted, this behavior suggests a cultural shift from rewarding kindness and self-restraint to applauding a more open expression of hospitality through rudeness. Perhapes there is a lessening of concern over being respectable, along with an increased vigilance oto make sure one is respected.Concludeing that Civility must beging with the individual person making small sacraficiesfor others.
My family has always been a priority for me because they always taught me how important it is to respect others. I highly value respect for others as well as myself. Having respect for others is very important at all times in any given situation. Respecting others opinions, beliefs, and values show 's you are acknowledging their feelings and ensures the person they are as important as anyone else. Being able to give someone your respect can also grant you with respect in return. Being respectful can also have an effect on your personality. It can help determine how you interact around others. The quality of respect has components to help others relate if you are a rude person or a kind one. In the late 1800 's John Stuart mill and Jeremy Bentham established a theory of social justice. Utilitarianism theory consists of moral ethics. The action of doing right and treating others equally maximizes utility and brings happiness to most people. Having respect can bring many positive aspects such as happiness, being happy can bring happiness to others around you that is an essential to solving problems that reduces conflict with one another. Having a value that is such a priority in life does not mean that you have to go against what you believe in order to satisfy others. It just helps you on improving on how you see the world and why others might feel the way they do. Respect has taught me not to be selfish and only think
The second reason why is because it lets you help other and them help you. The only way your going to get someone to help you is if you help them then they will most likely do something in return for you. In the begging if your nice to someone they will be nice to you if you help someone they help you it all depends on how you treat them and how they treat you. When
Respect is a quality that many people do not have towards others. Many people do not understand that respect that is a sort of behavior and attitude towards someone. People expect respect to just be given, but in order to gain respect you must give respect to someone else. For example, this essay is ridiculous.
I believe helping your friends when they are in need is how a true friend should behave, and it is essential for every one of us to be like
Respect is a very important part of our lives. Everybody should give and feel respect, not only to other people, but to our environment, animals and toys too. Respect can be such a little action that could change a life. Respect can be shown or given in many different ways. People should respect anything and everything they see or use!
I often think to myself “ what more can I do to help?”. I never feel like what I do is enough. And I think I know why, when I approach people most of them never reject my help. But every so often I encounter someone who dose. And most of the time I don't want to bother them so I let them be. But when I think about it I was once in their place. I would think that asking for help is a sign of weakness, but in reality asking for help is the bravest thing a person can do. Admitting that you need help and you cant do it on your own helps you grow as a person. And from now on when I encounter those people that tend to say “no I do not need your help” I will try my best to help them anyway, even if they don't want it, I know they need it.
