Why is Odysseus Important to Greek culture? Throughout the story he is very prideful and he thinks he is stronger than everyone else, but as we progress through the story he is able to change that about himself. The one thing he never gave up on was finding his way back home to his wife and son. He has strong motives of trying to find a way for him and his men to get home. He has faced many challenges throughout the twenty years he was away from home and it had changed him into a stronger person and he wasn't willing to fight to get what he wanted.

Odysseus is an important character to the Greek culture because some of his traits show that he valued many things the Greeks valued. He was a strong man and he showed it throughout the story by going through many different challenges and overcoming each one by, becoming less and less prideful as the story progresses. He was a strong leader and his men looked up to him because he always kept trying to get him and his men back home. …show more content…

They want people to be loyal, strong, and many more things. The ways in which Odysseus shows these characteristics is by facing bigger challenges that he has faced through out his journey.
