Linguistics is a study of understanding the meaning of language. Since linguist is different from traditional ways of understanding language such as knowing the grammar and rules of language. It is very important because language is widely used in a human daily life. Hence language has become a part of being human, their usage is integral.
Linguists study the structures, rules and common of each language. When it is said that linguist is very different from old ways of understanding language is linguist is descriptive not prescriptive like they used to be in the older times.
In becoming a teacher, an English teacher, it is important to understand the role of linguists and becoming linguists. To be able to teach English better, a teacher should understand the language better than anyone else.
The main points in learning linguistics that is focusing in speech and language is to understand what is language; discuss and analyze the components of language; investigate the process and sequence of speech and language development; examine the relationships between language and children’s development, particularly cognitive, social and emotional development; and lastly discuss issues related to learning in schools context, particularly in relation to teaching, the curriculum and literacy.

Theoretical computational linguistics is composed of theoretical linguistics and cognitive science. This particular area deals with formal theories about the linguistic knowledge that a human needs for generating and understanding language. This area has advanced so much, and has become so complex that it can only be managed by using computers. With these computers computational linguists develop formal models simulating aspects of the human language and then incorporates that into programs. These programs that they write constitute the basis for the evaluation and further development of their theories. Along with these theories there is another part that plays a big role in theoretical computational linguistics and that part is cognitive sciences. Language is the basis of human communication. It is a cultural and social interaction, and the way language is used is influenced by the circumstances in which it takes place (Emmitt, 2010, p. 49; Green, 2006, p. 2). Children become aware that there are different types of language, including languages used at home, at childcare and at school, as they observe and participate in various language situations (Fellowes & Oakley, 2014, p. 39). Some of these languages may be unfamiliar, and children will need to learn the different roles and uses of language. The different roles of language in a child’s life are, therefore, part of their growing understanding of how to behave in society and in a particular context. As they experience different types and uses of language, children develop an understanding of how to use language appropriately for any given situation.
Text linguistics is a “discipline which analyses the linguistic regularities and constitutive features of texts” (Bussmann, 1996: 1190). According to this definition, text linguistics is mainly concerned with studying the features that every piece of writing should have in order to be considered as a text. It is also defined by Noth (1977 in Al-Massri, 2013:33) as “the branch of linguistics in which the methods of linguistic analysis are extended to the level of text.” This means that text linguistics aims at producing rules and methods that can be used to analyze the whole text. This approach has been put forward by the two scholars Robert-Alain de Beaugrande and Wolfgang U. Dressler in their seminal book “Introduction to Text Linguistics”, in 1981. The study of texts in linguistic studies starts in
