Writing has been very challenging for me. Writing has been challenging for me because I have to first think about the message I intend to relay secondly I want to make sure the reader understands the message and lastly I want to make sure my tone is projected appropriately.
Writing has become a way of escape for me. Writing has be become a way of escape for me in many ways. One being a stress reliever. I can express myself on paper without anyone knowing how I may feel at the moment, two it calms me when I am upset because I can write my thoughts on paper and throw them away afterwards, thirdly I can escape in my writings through using my imagination.
Writing has increased my vocabulary and my communication skills again because I want to
Writing is a type of art because it requires you to think and be creative in the way you want it to be. I have a diary that I wrote almost everyday. They help me think about my day and sometimes turn my bad day into a good day. I write whatever comes into my head at that moment, and reflect on my day. Writing make me think deeper to what happen and help me turn my negative thought to positive. Writing is a very powerful tool. When I write, I have the power to change the story. I am the author of my own story so I can be as creative as I want.
Stress is everywhere, one in eight Americans complain about being stressed. Thus, from stress people tend to get anxiety, depression, and feel unhappy with whatever situation is bringing them down. Writing as a form of therapy has been around much longer than we think. A lot of the time when reading poems or short stories we don’t even notice the flow of emotion that is vented through the piece of work. This has been said to be a huge stress reliever, by writing down your thought and feelings people can sit back after read their situation and look at it with a somewhat clear head. In Cangialosi’s article she states “Writing is not only a salve but often a tool that opens our minds and hearts to things that are deep inside us”
Literature has long been an important part of human life. We express our feelings with ink and paper; we spill out our souls on dried wood pulp. Writing has been a form of release and enjoyment since the beginning of written language. You can tell a story, make yourself a hero. You can live out all your fantasies!
The journey through language and literature has always been an intriguing one for me. It is for this reason that I chose English as my major. It seems that every teacher or professor that I have had, has always been able to pinpoint one specific element in my writing that I need to work on. This has not been a negative thing by any stretch, because with each passing semester there is an element of my literature that will be perfected for the next. This is the wonder that is English, and the reason for my passion in this subject area.
People write for many reasons. They write to educate, , and to entertain to express
Writing is a way in which a person can express their thoughts and ideas through the use of words. Everybody has their own writing styles. Some may consider theirs as inspirational while others think of it to be bad. Writing requires a lot of patience and time. In my case, writing has never been my favorite thing to do. I am no Shakespeare and I never will be, writing has always made me feel uncomfortable. In the past, I had always considered writing to be one of the most difficult tasks. I often wrote about topics that were not of my interest. I rarely did any writing out of school or for leisure as most people do. I only wrote because the teacher asked us to. Writing has always been forced onto me. Even though my writing isn't that great, I've felt that I've never been given the freedom to express my voice. Academic writing has always made me anxious. And, anxiety had resulted in my procrastination. Even though I consider writing to be one of the toughest tasks, I've felt that giving myself enough time to think allows me to do better. Silence helps me think beyond horizons. However, the fear of impressing someone, the anxiety and frustration is what makes me a developing writer.
...arly, they all perceive writing as a way to escape from reality, as well as a way to express themselves, their dreams, and wishes.
Writing can be a very difficult process for those who do not know how to go about constructing
After reading the “College Writing” article, I can compare myself to that article because the article actually tells me what my college professors expect me to do when I reach into that level. I feel like everything I learned from my previous classes and what I did in those previous classes had nothing to do with what college professors require me to do. For example, in the “College Writing” article it said, “The five paragraph theme is a good way to learn how to write an academic essay.” I realized that in college we go beyond the academic essay, so why am I still being taught the five paragraph essay? Shouldn’t we be prepared for the college five page, six page or even seven page essays? If the article tells me exactly why the five paragraph essay is not a good method to be used, than why am I still being taught to write a five paragraph essay? When it comes to writing, I wish I can just run away from it, because writing has been my least favorite thing to do.
Lamott also believes writing is a therapeutic process because writing about a person’s emotions can help that person sort their emotions out. It can change a person’s emotion for the better. It can also make them feel better to let out what’s been bottled up inside them out. “Then I started to write about my envy. I got to look in
If someone is not challenged, they become complacent and their quality will start to deteriorate. Also, they will never show true mastery because they only write about a subject they like. “Students do need to read models of intellectually challenging writing…If they are to become intellectual themselves,” (Graff 265). Students need to study harder subjects to show that they truly understand. Writing about personal interest is great for the start but to become skilled, a student must leave their comfort zone. I was told by my newspaper advisor to step out of my comfort zone, I did and wrote on of the best things I have ever written, an Op-Ed piece about a friend of mine that was shot. I was giving an award by SNO (School Newspaper Online) and my paper was added to their best of
The main reason why I have so much trouble when writing, is because I don't concentrate
Writing has been my most challenging requirement through school. I am not a very experienced writer. I was not required to write much in high school until my last semester. My last semester in high school, about a year and half ago, I took GENR-091 which is the last time I have written a paper longer than one page. That was my most recent writing class; I am rusty to say the least.
I love to write. Writing has always been one of my favorite ways of self expression along with
Though it isn 't just about the writing that has captivated me over the course period, it is the fact that I had to undergo an evolution of what I considered to be okay in writing. Things I found to be passable are now considered to be mediocre in the expense that I did not pay attention to the small bits of detail there was. The course was not at all a challenge, however the real challenge
