Winston Peacock, a man with a rumoured fortune, would always wave to Jenny Goodhart, who delivered his newspaper. On January 2nd, he didn’t come out to wave to Jenny and she noticed he hasn’t picked up his milk. She peeked inside and saw he was laying on the floor so she biked to the police station. After investigating, the police came to the conclusion that Winston committed suicide with his own gun because he was depressed and there was no way for anyone to get in or out of his house. To begin, Mr.Peacock killed himself with his own gun. This is proven by the gun missing on the wall which means the gun in his hand came from his own house. Also, Winston is holding the gun in his right hand and the pen and newspaper show he’s right-handed. The wound on his head is on the right side of his head. …show more content…
This shows that Winston Peacock shot himself. Another reason the police came to this conclusion is because he was depressed. This is suggested by the “Your Stars” section on the newspaper which is a horoscope section. Winston may have been superstitious and read a bad horoscope for himself which would lead him to suicide. Mr.Peacock also was rumoured to have a fortune but the bills & commodities newspaper on his desk suggest that he lost his fortune in the stocks leaving him bankrupt which, of course, would make anyone depressed. Also another reason Winston killed himself and didn’t get murdered is because there was no way for anyone to get in or out of his house.
When the police arrived, they had to break through the window because both the windows and the door was locked from the inside. This means someone would have to lock them from the inside. Many may argue that the he was murdered because the rug is rolled up. So maybe someone was looking for his fortune when Winston came in the room and was shot. But, this can not be true because if an intruder was looking for something and Winston came in, he wouldn’t be able to get that close to the intruder before getting shot. In the picture he was laying right where the intruder would be. To put it briefly, Winston Peacock killed himself with a gun that came from his own collection because he was very depressed and no one could get in or out of the house. There are details that brought the police to this conclusion such as the commodities & your stars newspapers that show he was depressed, the gun in his right hand, and windows & door locked from the inside. The police should inform any family Winston has and Mr. Peacock should be put to
rest.

One reoccurring principle discussed in Crime Scene Investigation is “let the crime scene tell you a story.” When applied to this case, the story was a sad tale of a depressed husband who killed his

In the story “A Jury of Her Peers” by Susan Glaspell, Mr. Lewis Hale arrived at the Wright house to find that his neighbor, John Wright, had been strangled in his sleep. Hale asked John’s wife, Millie Wright, a few questions about what had happened. Suspiciously, Mrs. Wright’s dry answers didn’t add up. Now the sheriff, the county attorney, Mr. and Mrs. Hale, and Mrs. Peters the sheriff’s wife, are investigating the house. Although Mrs. Wright claims to be asleep during her husband’s murder, the women conclude that she strangled her husband as evidenced by the broken bird cage, the slaughtered canary, and the errant quilt patch.
One summer day, Mrs. Peacock was going through her mail when she came across a special piece of mail. It was an invitation that stated, "you are invited to Mr. Boddy's house pay at Tudor machine, on June 18." Mrs. Peacock knew Mr. Boddy because she was married to his uncle, Sir Hugh. Sir Hugh would have been Mrs. Peacock's fourth husband, but he died just like all of her other husbands had. Sir Hugh dies in a car crash while Mr. Boddy was driving. The rest of her husband's died with murder, but not just any person murdered them, Mrs. Peacock did. Mrs. Peacock never went to jail though, because nobody ever knew what had happened.
Winston Peacock’s death is a case of murder due to the fortune he was rumored to have hidden within his house. Winston Peacock was reputed to have an immense fortune within his household and a motive for murder would be to obtain his hidden treasures. To begin, in the information given Winston's house has only access to one door and a couple of side windows. On the [picture it seems as if the doors is locked.as a rule, the only way he could of been murdered is if he left someone inside or the murder tried breaking in.that cant be possible because if they left after the door couldn't be locked from the inside and there is no sign of open windows.therefore, no one broke in the house and winston was the one who locked the door.
he is a man with a tragic flaw. Winston's fatalism, selfishness and isolation ultimately lead him to his
At the end of the novel, Orwell describes Winston as a cured patient who has over come his metal disease. “He had won the victory over himself: he loved Big Brother” (Part 3, Chapter 6). Both Freud and Orwell break down the components of a person’s mind in the same way. Orwell’s character, Winston, depicts the different parts of the human mind so described by Freud. In Orwell’s 1984, he uncovers the same components of a human mind as seen by Freud, the instinctual drive of the id, the perceptions and actions of the ego, and the censorship imposed by the morality of the superego.
He implies that the records of his childhood are gone and all he has left is fond memories. The line between dreams and memories starts to become unclear and Winston is left dreaming about his past, this leaves him in a position of negligence against the Thought Police. Winston is becoming more and more unstable from the Party’s viewpoint. Into the next chapter Winston has been given the task of changing records to fit the Party’s ideology. Winston shows yet another case of independent autonomy as he is reflecting upon his actions while working for The Ministry of Truth.
First responders play a crucial role in the establishment of a crime scene. Upon arriving at the scene, the first responders have checked for living victims and have rendered aid. It’s important to create a perimeter around the crime scene (this can be altered if additional evidence is found outside the initial crime scene). Only emergency personnel should enter and exit from the central entry point to control contamination, by creating an exit point; it helps avoid any excessive traffic through the crime scene. By secure the scene to ensure that no evidence is misplaced or damaged, or otherwise compromised. Do a cursory check of the crime scene to obtain any transient evidence and secure any weapons found at the scene (in this case it was already at the scene with the suspect). Crime scene analysts and investigators communicate with first responders and are quickly briefed on the situation, and now a more thorough search can be conducted.
