Star-crossed love is a relationship that is said to be doomed, and will end tragically. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, that is exactly what happens. The story takes any reader or audience on a true journey of star-crossed love. There are many speculations on who and why certain characters in the story could have impacted the outcome of Romeo and Juliet’s love, however Friar Laurence, the nurse, and the two lovers themselves are the biggest reasons to the tragic ending of this story.
One of the biggest reasons for this tragedy is Friar Laurence. He is a wise secret adviser to Romeo and Juliet. He keeps their love a complete secret and helps them bond together in marriage. He only does this because he thinks that if they get married, their …show more content…

Them rushing into their relationship, and never approaching their family, even when given many opportunities to do so is a cause of their deaths.. From the beginning of the play the young and reckless lovers could have figured out a way where everyone could be happy with their love. Juliet could have told her father why she could not marry paris from the start and maybe he would have understood. Most importantly, if Romeo decided to just deal with the pain and grief of Juliet being, “dead”, he would have came to realize that she was only on the potion that the Friar gave to her, and it would have saved their lives. Since Romeo was so madly in love with Juliet all that is very unlikely and would have been completely out of character for him to live without Juliet which causes him to kill himself with Juliet doing the same after him.
Ultimately because of the young and reckless lovers, an unwise but trying to be wise Friar Laurence and an unsupportive so called best friend, there can be countless reasons why Romeo and Juliet’s relationship ends tragically. Even though many events could have been avoided or taken to a different route Friar Laurence, the nurse and the two lovers themselves are undoubtedly the biggest reasons why these star crossed lovers from the beginning ended
