How Important is Respect in Your Lives
Respect is a type of behavior that happens around the world within every second. Respect is a way of showing kindness, and show your attention to someone or something. This can include using eye contact, showing gratitude, being grateful, offering help or assistance, and many other ways.
Showing respect for someone or something is a good thing in common society. If you show respect to someone, and they show respect to you, then you are more likely to have a strong relationship, or more so with other people. Showing respect will help people think about the ways you acted more.
You can show respect in a religious way. Like when you go to a different country and they do different kinds of things. Like girls wearing clothes over their head, or like eating all your food or not finishing their food. Many places around the world have different religions and respecting

Respect the elderly. The elderly have been through a great amount of experience, more than most people have. Do not back talk to them, they more know things than you do. The elderly need support, and teaching respect makes young people more likely to help. It is important to walk an elderly person across a business street. It will make them feel good that people care about them.
One of the most important kinds of respect is to yourself. If you respect yourself you will be more successful because you will believe in yourself more if you do,also you will not doubt yourself. Respect is a such a simple concept and a virtue that should be simple to follow. It means treating other people and animals in a dignified manner. Respect doesn’t mean that people need to hug everyone they come across or hold their opinion higher than everyone elses. Respect means treating others as equals and acknowledging that as human
When I think of what respect means to me, my definition is: listening and being mindful of what someone is saying or doing. The dictionary on Google has respect listed as: “admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements” (Google). I have never associated with respect with admiring someone’s abilities, qualities, yet along their achievements. The two different mothers in the stories view respect differently as well.
According to dictionary.com, respect’s denotation is an “esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability.” The origin of the word comes from the Latin word respectus, meaning “regard” or an “act of looking back at one.” Therefore, respect translates into valuing, honoring, admiring, and looking up to someone or something by taking care of and sharing kindness with one other. Respect is more than just admiring someone though: It involves trusting someone to choose ethical decisions. For example, why should someone respect a police officer? The po...
Respect to me is admiring someone for their abilities, qualities, or achievements. I think respect is always earned an can never be given. As soldiers soldiers we should always respect our peers because they have made the same sacrifice as us. But as soldiers we should have a higher level of respect for our NCOs because they have done their time an have earned it. Being respectful is not hard it is simple, just treat others the way we would like to be treated ourselves.
In three seperate dictionaries, respect is defined as a regard for or appreciation of the worth or value of someone or something. In my opinion, respect goes far beyond this definition. Respect is the cornerstone of the society in which we live. Although many look at respect as simply treating another person or thing with kindness, this word has many different aspects. For instance, I would not give an elder the same type of respect that I would give my peers or myself. Respect is not considered a neccessity in this world but, I can’t imagine a person getting very far in life without this virtue.
My culture respects the people and the things that deserve it, but with that said, we also don’t give respect to the people who don’t deserve it. We don’t just respect anyone or anything neither, they have to earn that valuable thing that most people don’t have nor give anymore. This is probably one of the biggest differences between my culture and my society because in my society people don’t know the first thing about respect. The way i see it is that it really is a shame of how my society and these people that live in it can’t show even a little bit of respect for someone or something, big or small. Respect is one of the dying characteristics in this world and my culture has the last of it.
HONOR CAN BE DEFINED IN SO MANY WAYS CAN mean respect and esteem shown to another. HONOR may ALSO apply to the recognition of one's right to great respect or to any expression of such recognition IN SOME SITUATIONS IT implies profound respect mingled with love, devotion. There is a priceless respect that everyone in the world possesses, and that is the. respect of a person?s honor. A person?s honor is something that can not be bought, sold,. or traded it?s something that must be gained by the respect of your peers. An example of. how honor is seen in everyday life in through a persons word. The standard dictionary definition of honor first lists public regard and esteem under the word, with ethical conduct or high standards of justice and responsibility appearing much further down the list. This is reflected in the way the modern world treats the issue of honor. In ancient times, honor was the manner of being that we now describe as having integrity. In plain language, an honorable person avoids deception whenever possible, treats others with respect and sticks to her beliefs no matter how others think or act. People generally do not seem to behave very well toward each other any more.Honor determines the hierarchy of an individual while revealing his loyalty and true intentions. Reward comes for those at the top whose honor does not diminish, while a false or fleeting honor of a lesser mortal causes destruction. Exploring and discussing how to act honorably toward each other is a place to start. The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be. How can you be a person of integrity? First, figure out what integrity (honor) is. My mother used to say to treat others the way you wanted to be treated. Does anyone do that these days? Well, I know that I don't want to be cut off in traffic, or yelled at, or bumped into rudely at the grocery store, or left picking up garbage all over my yard from the street. So I could try not to do those things to other people. I won't cut off others in traffic, or yell, or act rude at the grocery store, or throw garbage in the street. That's just a place to start. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Respect is a behavior that shows another person moral and ethical acceptance. Showing respect for another, even when not deserved, is considered to be a good sign of breeding in times past, but now as where society has changed, dissing "show disrespect for" has become more accepted, this behavior suggests a cultural shift from rewarding kindness and self-restraint to applauding a more open expression of hospitality through rudeness. Perhapes there is a lessening of concern over being respectable, along with an increased vigilance oto make sure one is respected.Concludeing that Civility must beging with the individual person making small sacraficiesfor others.
Respect, in my opinion, is something that is earned through being an honest person, behave in a reliable way and also show respect to other. Being a person with integrity is something one is as a person and it shows through everything we do. If one’s behavior matches their beliefs, people will respect them for who they are. Responsibility is being accountable for one’s actions, no matter if they are good or bad. By being a responsible person, others can depend on you and respect you without questioning your integrity. These two values are important to me because I strive to be a respectful and respected person, as well as responsible every day through my actions. I want to earn people’s respect by showing them that my morals match my actions and also through taking responsibility for my actions when necessary. These values are important to my educational goals, but also to become the best person I can

To receive respect from others, it is always best to give respect first. Respecting your peers and people above you is an important trait to have in the work place especially, because without it, a cooperative and peaceful environment is not possible. If everyone gave each other respect, there would be few problems and things would run smoothly, but the world is not perfect and everyone is only human. People do not work well together if some type of respect is not established. Jobs don’t get finished, or if they do, they are not finished well and in a timely manner. Of course, it is still possible to work with others without respect, but not alongside them.
Respect means to show regard or consideration for someone, or to hold in esteem or honor. Without respect in a society there would not be a social hierarchy, which would cause chaos in schools, within the government, and the workplace. Self- Respect is a key point in having respect for others, while it can also determine how you are treated, and how happy you are in life. Respect is something you have to earn, and can be easily lost. Respect is gained through honesty and trust, and breaking someone’s trust or not being truthful is how respect can be so easily lost.
Respect is showing love, when you love someone you protect them from hurt. It gives comfort to the heart to be with someone who respects you. I gained confidence through being faithful to my marriage and putting my focus on one family. A husband and wife should build each other up, not tear each other down. I have come to believe and stand by the word of God in my marriage and not a day goes by that I do not appreciate my children and especially my wife for treating me as a man I have grown to be.
Respect often comes from our values and from our opinions. If we feel someone is being less than they should be, we lose respect for them. If we feel as if someone is hurting themselves and can 't gain strength to do better, we lose respect for them. If we don 't think someone is living the 'right ' way, we lose respect for them. But all of those things are based off our values and opinions, not
Having respect came quick for me, I lived in a bad neighborhood were saying the wrong thing or speaking to someone in the wrong way could get you hurt. I always stay come and cool with everyone and treated him or her how I like to be treated. I also never wanted to get hurt or picked on for not having respect. Just because I would show respect for these people didn’t mean I always had it for them, most of the time it was just to stay out of trouble and not have to deal with the low lives.
