Why Is Resources Important In College

There may be times where you may wonder why some of the most capable students don’t go to college and I am here to tell you and show you what some of those reasons are. Lack of resources can affect anyone in any situation, from loans, career, job and education. Resources are needed for everything we do every day, if we go to work we need resources to get there and do our job and that is just how it is in college, you need resources to continue your education; money, technology, scholarships, transportation, books and programs. Without resources nothing can be done or started.

We could use that money to make college more affordable by providing the students that lack on resources with more help or scholarships, making tuition and college fees cost less. According to the president Barack Obama who spoke directly to colleges in his State of the Union address: “If you can’t stop tuition from going up, the funding you get from taxpayers will go down” (Obama 2012). During this speech Obama brought attention to the colleges because they were increasing their tuition as much as possible and 75% of Americans said that college was too expensive. Obama wanted to make it clear because he wanted to make sure that families could send their kids to college, the colleges could increase tuition rates because there was no bill or law saying they couldn’t. If it isn't necessary, why have the need to make students pay more for an education that will not only benefit the students but the government and future itself. This was not the first time that college prices where brought up, back in 2003 Rep. Buck McKeon had proposed that if Colleges did not stop from increasing tuition they would not get as much money from taxpayers as they had been the past couple of years, and since Buck and Obama proposed that nothing has really been …show more content…

The people may say that it will take too long for the government to do something about it or even put it to work and that it will affect the way our economic system works. It may be that some people are not going though that problem so they don't consider the necessity of doing something about it and want the tax money to be used in the things they want, after all they pay their taxes for that reason and if they are not struggling with their kids than they may not feel one bit upset about the situation. It will cut out a lot of money from the governments pocket but if they can do it with other things they can do it for something that will benefit on the long run. Even though it is a very important topic, some of the students may feel like if they don't have to pay as much for classes or have that many resources required to attend college they will take it as a joke and not try as hard as if they had to pay the regular price and have many resources needed. It could take up to 5 years to make it regulate with the system and have the right way being applied. The higher class, high income families may feel like it is unnecessary, and their money is not being used for something that will benefit them which may cause it to fail. However, if the college just brought down their prices we would not have to use as much of the tax money for the students and everyone could get away with
