Out of anyone in the galaxy, I bet you wouldn’t admire a botanist stuck on Mars. In the story, The Martian, by Andy Weir, Mark Watney is an admirable person. He is admirable because he’s optimistic, hardworking, and most of all, very intelligent. One of the reasons why Mark Watney is admirable is because he is optimistic. This trait is shown throughout the story, when no matter how serious the situation is, he makes the best of it with jokes. This is proven when Dr. Irene Shields says about Watney, “Usually cheerful, with a great sense of humor. He’s quick with a joke.” This makes him admirable because he is optimistic and can make any situation positive. Optimistic people are people you should look up to, which is why Mark Watney is an admirable person. Mark Watney is also admirable because he is hardworking. He puts a lot of stress on his mind and does a ton of physical labor. One time when he does this is when he has to calculate the amount of soil he needed to plant potatoes, and how much he could plant. He also has to haul all of that soil to the shelter. This makes him hardworking because all of the times he had to carry the …show more content…
soil must’ve taken a lot of time and effort. Also, all of that mental strain must’ve been challenging. This makes Watney admirable because anyone who can be this hardworking is someone who people should strive to be. This is why he is admirable. The final and most important reason why Mark Watney is admirable is because he is very intelligent.
This is shown many times throughout the story when he improvises. One example of him improvising is when he has nothing to make water, so he uses his knowledge of the materials he was sent with to build a water-making contraption. This shows that Watney is smart because he needs to learn about his materials and what does what to do this. He also shows intelligence when he uses what he learned in his botany Master’s program to grow potatoes. This makes him intelligent because getting a Master’s degree in botany requires Mark to be smart. Also, being able to use what he learned in a situation is hard. This makes Mark Watney admirable because anyone who can use his or her intellect so well is someone people should
become. One may argue that Mark Watney isn't admirable because he didn't make anything immune to dust storms, the reason why he's still on Mars. If Watney’s so smart, then why didn't he make anything dust storm proof? This is weak because humans are bound to make mistakes, and Mark didn't have the right materials when it comes to his situation. In conclusion, I believe that in the story, The Martian, by Andy Weir, Mark Watney is admirable because he is optimistic, hardworking, and most of all, he's intelligent. One might argue that Mark isn't admirable because he didn't make anything dust storm proof, but this is because he doesn't have the right materials.
Marty has an eidetic memory, is extremely curious, and enjoys going on adventures that involve extreme risk. These last two things can get him into trouble, and have in the past. He is athletic, has no fear, and is artistic. He loves drawing comics and playing practical jokes.
Andy Weir's book, The Martian, is laced with conflict, both external and internal. From the beginning of the book, Weir shocks the reader with the dramatic opening of "I'm pretty screwed." This is the reader's first glimpse that there is conflict between natures bloodthirsty determination to kill the book's main character Mark Watney, an astronaut, botanist and an engineer, and Mark's desire to survive against all odds. In his daily logs Mark narrates his deathly encounters and near-death experiences with nature. Mark's logs record every event in which nature strives to get the best of him and yet he is able to keep his sense of humor throughout. In one of his logs Mark humorously states " I was just one of her crew. Actually, I was the very

Isaacson and Dweck begin and would agree with a similar base that intelligence, to a `certain point, is innate upon those who society sees as intelligent. Isaacson proves his viewpoint by exploring the mind of Steve Jobs, someone that most would consider to be the pinnacle of intelligence, and stating that “His imaginative leaps were instinctive, unexpected, and at times magical. They were sparked by intuition, not analytic rigor” (Isaacson 3). By emphasizing
The film Good Will Hunting starts by giving us a glimpse into a rather bleak moment in the life of Will Hunting, a college-aged janitor at the prestigious university called MIT. He lives the typical college life in many respects, from regularly meeting his friends at the bar to getting into a relationship built upon lies – with the glaring exception that he is not a college student whatsoever. In fact, he is portrayed as an undiscovered genius…at least until getting into trouble with the law leads to a bail out that eventually turns around his life for the better.
Well to answer that question, we have to refer to Who Killed Markiplier?, as that series really give a lot of insight into his character. But if we’re just going off of his behavior as Wilford Warfstache, he hasn’t really changed too much since his inception. That is, up until Markiplier TV. The only time he drops his over-the-top accent and bubbly attitude is during the bubble commercial when his narration, “Are you constantly haunted by the ghosts of everyone that you killed and maybe you think that it was you that was the problem and it wasn’t just a misunderstanding where you were trying to tickle them with a knife?” suggests that he remembers and understands the consequences of both the events of WKM? and the other murders he’s committed more than he lets on.

Kevin Hart is a very inspiring person. He is super funny and is always pushing himself and other to be the best and to do their best.
Good Will Hunting is the graceful tale of a young gentleman’s struggle to find out where he belongs in the world, by first finding out who he himself is. With the assistance of a psychologist, played by Robin Williams, Will learns about himself and recognizes his individual worth in the world by comprehending what is most important to him in his own life. This motion picture serves as a source of superb example for film technique. Gus Van Sant’s directing ability joined with the writing skills of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who also plays Will’s best buddy, Chuckie, is a vibrant mixture of technical features used to induce sentiment and compassion amongst the viewers of this heart-warming film. Characteristics of the color, angles, shots, camera movement, editing, and distortions are all each particularly noteworthy to the general composition of Van Sant’s Good Will Hunting.
"In a career of extraordinary range and depth, Jimmy Stewart has come to embody on screen the very image of the typical American.... His idealism, his determination, his vulnerability, and above all, his basic decency shine through every role he plays..."--
This concept of a self-made man challenges the invulnerable “elite psychopath” stereotype mentioned above, indeed Tom is oftentimes gauche, as shown by his tactless romantic advances on Dickie and lack of self which I will expand upon

Mars is the closest planet to Earth but at the same time they are completely different. Mars is a dust bowl of red dirt and is very barren from what we understand there is nothing living on Mars. The soil on Mars lacks a lot of things for something to grow like the nutrients and lack of oxygen and water. But Watney makes uses his botanist skills to overcome great odds and actually grow plants on Mars. Watney Used a mixture of ingenuity and crap to make this possible he took soil from Mars and brought it into the HAB where he was able to make the soil have nutrients which is key for growing plants. Next he placed potatoes that NASA had given the crew for a thanksgiving dinner into the soil to produce more. He then set up an irrigation system
