In our society, Twain advice is very useful and can be proven to help young people today. Because young people are thrown in jail from violence or bad history. "Mark Twain advice obey your parents" is very helpful because they are your best friends, they will be there for you when times are bad. Twain critics are relevant to today's society, young are not listening to their parents, they aren't respectful, they do things without questioning is this the right or wrong thing to do?
Guns are bad in society. Guns in this society are extremely malignant , because of the death rate from gun shot. Mark Twain made a good point. "The young will shoot and kill their own family, but if told to hit a cathedral with a Gatling gun they wouldn't hit". Twain
People really do not have individual thoughts and just go along with the general opinions of others. Twain’s use of humor, rhetorical questions, everyday life examples, manners, literature, and outside influences present an effective argument for conformity. He believes that people like to imitate each other, so they can be accepted by the rest of society and agree with the public opinion. Without self-approval a person does not feel good about themselves and must always resign to be different. A person needs to conform to be a part of
Mark Twain’s “Advice to Youth” is used to instruct the youthful generation on ways we should be, act and present ourselves. This is ironic because youth does not listen to advice due to the know it all persona they uphold for a solid 10 years. Basically he states that reviewing and following these bs rules will make life so much better for all of society.
Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has been referred to as an American classic since it was written in 1884. Although it takes place over 130 years ago, there are still aspects of the novel that can be seen in our American society. Therefore, it would not be out of place to state that there are certain aspects of this novel that are explicitly American and parallel themes that can be seen in contemporary debates. Slavery, religion, and family are all concepts that directly correlate to us as Americans, both historically and currently.
The article “Advice to Youth” written by Mark Twain educates teenagers to live better in their precious youths. Twain mentions several points in comedic way. First, do not argue with your parents, because parents always consider they know more than you known. Youths can even deserve more if they obey to their parents. Second, respect to the seniors, even if a stranger. And avoid being in fight; the generation of violence has been gone, it is a generation that people ask for peace. Then, to sleep and wake up early, it is the way that you gain reputation. Moreover, Twain especially teaches teenager how to lie perfectly. Through more practices and experiences, it would make the young people become more completely. He illustrates an example

Take a look at the history of our country and the role guns have played in it. According to the second amendment gun ownership is perfectly legal and guaranteed as a right. There were and are good reasons for this, luckily they are still practiced today. Back in the day guns used to be for hunting and, on the occasion self defense. But when the colonists of this country had enough of British rule, they picked up there own personal guns and went to war and the British saw first hand how powerful the rough band of average American gun owners were. Our forefathers knew that the general population if armed would be key in winning the war. And it was.
Youth individually is important in this society. If not, the youth of this society are just like everyone else, which discourage them to be themselves. A very humorous, intellectual man, author Mark Twain created a satire which became a lecture in 1882, to show the humor of society to the youth. In “Advice of Youth” Mark Twain informs the youth through logical appeals, irony, and parallelism.
The problem with guns is fairly obvious: they decrease the difficulty of killing or injuring a person. In Jeffrey A. Roth's Firearms and Violence (NIJ Research in Brief, February 1994), he points out the obvious dangers. About 60 percent of all murder victims in the United States in 1989 (about 12,000 people) were killed with firearms. Firearm attacks injured another 70,000 victims, some of whom were left permanently disabled. In 1985, the cost of shootings was an estimated $14 billion nationwide for medical care, long-term disability, and premature death. In robberies and assaults, victims are far more likely to die when the perpetrator is armed with a gun than when he or she has another weapon or is unarmed.
As you can see if guns were eliminated from our society we would be at a serious loss. Our freedoms would be in jeopardy, our individual safety would be questionable and a significant industry in our country would be at a deficit. The quote that "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" is even more pertinent today. .
Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known by the pseudonym Mark Twain, has been central to American literature for over a century. His iconic works are timeless and have given inspiration the youth of America for decades. He distanced himself from formal writing and became one of the most celebrated humorists. Mark Twain’s use of the common vernacular set him apart from authors of his era giving his readers a sense of familiarity and emotional connection to his characters and himself.
Guns have been the weapon of choice for some of the most brutal massacres on America soil. Since early history guns have been used mainly for militia and defense purposes. But, the development of new gun technology has made firearms more accessible and deadly. Although the second amendment gives the right to bear arms, guns should be controlled and monitored by the government because guns have contributed to a lot of killings in America and will increase crime rates.
First, and foremost many handguns have claimed the lives of too many people. This is a very serious issue we must tackle globally not just in the United States. The same problem is killing our past, present, and future. Gun violence has claimed the lives of so many Americans that we are the leading country in crimes committed by guns. These guns are claiming the lives of people ranging from babies to adults to even the elderly. Handguns are just causing too many deaths.
There are billions of guns in the world and currently, more are in the process of being manufactured, and these products will soon be on the market, at this rate, it is impossible to imagine the world without guns. Humans have evolved and adapted to many changes in their life, perhaps it is time to adapt or simply learn to live the way the word it is right now or perhaps we have to fight to make the world a better place. Guns take a big place in our society and a study made by the Small Arms Society showed that “There are 875 million guns around the world and civilians own about 650 million out of all the guns in the world” (Karp) The statistics show that civilians own the majority of the guns, therefore, there is a need to address the subject
Twain compresses so much knowledge and wisdom into a two page essay. Twain’s advice knows no bounds and is still useful today. What's wrong with guns?? Ask yourself is a gun dangerous or is the person dangerous. If you think about it, a gun can't harm anybody without a shooter. Im positive if you looked at guns like that you will never feel the same. People should be able to own these guns because it isn't the gun but the shooter.
