Voting for Self- Interested Reasons or Love The world is diverse and has just as many diverse issues that need to be addressed. If those issues keep getting pushed to the side because of people wanting what is best for themselves, there will be more unresolved issues that will get bigger the longer they get put on hold. The world is never going to be “perfect,” but there are chances of making it better. Voting is one of those chances, and not enough people use this chance wisely. It is not okay to vote for self- interested reasons. However, it makes sense for people to feel like they need to do something in order for their issues to be solved. The problem with people only solving their own problems is that no one wants to work together to try and solve the world’s problems and to think of a solution to better everyone. The solution cannot be made if people are still not willing

Specifically, why voting for self- interested reasons are okay to a certain extent. One major reason that is important to think of when voting are rights as a person. No one should feel obligated to vote for someone who wants to control something so personal to a person. Being a mom is a very personal situation. To have someone try to control how they should go about it is not okay. That is why Hillary Clinton said she will defend women's rights to make their own healthcare decisions(Cauterucci). The health care decision she is referring to mostly is abortion. She has had abortions before and she wants young mothers to know that it is okay if they choose that path. There are other options however, and abortion should not be the only option these mothers put into consideration. The bigger picture is whatever they choose, it is their decision. They should not be criticised for it. Mistakes happen and they should not define a person. Everyone makes them and what matters is where they go from
