Many people say that Football has had a big impact on their child's life, while at the same time they are making new friends on their football team. With the team-building skills, amazing history, and equipment that is improving everyday, Football is a great sport to learn about the past and the present of the sport, also to have a really good time and make new friends on the team. Football is a very great sport, but there's injuries involved in it just like any other sport. When thinking about letting a child play the sport it makes it hard to think about, is a parent capable of taking that risk of their child getting hurt while playing football are would they let them try something they might turn out to love? If there not it could result in the other team scoring a touchdown are the whole team being punished the next time that they go to practice. Also, they need to be able to have trust in their teammates to ask where they’re supposed to be, and for them to not to not get mad or laugh because that may make them upset or not want to play the sport anymore. William (Pudge) Heffelfinger was the first professional football player to actually get paid, his paycheck was $500, back then that amount of money was a lot. Football wasn’t well known other than the game played in 1869, until the 1880’s when a rugby player from yale, Walter Camp had changed the rules of football. Walter had made those rules, and then a few years later they were then divided up into all the elements of football now. Which included the running games and kicking games. Once the 1890’s struck almost every athletic club had established a football
Team sports like football teach dedication , teamwork, and all teams focus keeping up grades. These are all incredibly important for kids to know and learn about That's why i would definitely allow my son to play in football or any other contact sport. One big problem i've seen around is that kids don't normally stick to one thing for long, but kids that decide to join sports teams and have an opportunity to enjoy the game will surely stick to the game. The are also more likely to not only want to play the game but also they would want to make friends on the team and spent a large majority of their time ether practicing or with members of their team. A dedication to a team will make these kids want to succeed and do whatever to stay on the team and continue to play.
“Maybe I´m stupid or whatever, but to me if I got a concussion, if I could see straight and carry a football, then I´m not telling anybody”, Ricky Williams, NFL Football player. The argument about whether kids should play football or not is an important topic to argue. People need to understand that the concussions and other injuries are more serious with young kids. The problem is that many people think that it could be stopped by not allowing kids to play at all. Although parents can reduce risk of injury by not allowing their kids to play football, parents should let their children play football because it lets kids follow their dreams, it helps kids become more mature and independant, and if kids use proper technique they can reduce injuries.
Through his motivation to find love, Romeo, a dynamic character, changes from a subdued individual, into a jovial lovesick character. In the early sections of the play, Romeo is in love with a woman named Rosaline who does not reciprocate those feelings. This leads him to drone on about, “sad hours “ (I.i.146) and how he would, “rather weep” (I.i.167) because he is, “out of her favour” (I.i.154). The importance of Romeo’s affection for each of his women is essential to address. The feelings that Romeo possesses inevitably leads him to become sorrowful over rejection but then, optimistic for Juliet. Later on in the play, once Romeo meets Juliet, he is quick to forget the love that he had for Rosaline and the grieving that he had underwent. After meeting her at Capulet’s ball Romeo states that she is, “my
Football, just another method to throw life away. Football is an extremely unsafe sport, yet it is glorified by several in the United States. A plethora of football players are impacted negatively by injuries that may occur just by playing an "innocent" little game of tackle football. It is necessary to consider all the dreadful outcomes that may happen before taking the chance to play. Young individuals shouldn't play tackle football due to the trauma it can cause to the brain, the injuries or occurrences that can lead to a harder life or even death, and it leaves the players to be less sharp in their old age. It is often thought that football is a harmless game for kids to enjoy. Nevertheless, the amount of health issues and injuries that can be caused by football is unbelievable and not worth the risk.
One of the biggest controversial topics going on today is should children still be aloud to play football, knowing what we know about serious injuries? The article that I chose ( “Don’t Let Kids play football”) is about the consequences that could occur playing such a contact sport. The debate is that some people believe that football teaches important life lessons and others believe that it can cause serious life changing injuries.
Every sport has its tricks and ways of doing things the right way. You can assure anyone that the sport their child is playing is safe, because there is always a stronger, bigger, faster player than them. Personally, I believe football is a demanding sport that requires a lot of strength, and stamina. If you read the article “Hard Knocks” by Alan Schwarz, it gives a brief story about a young football player. “The autopsy showed that his brain was in the early stage of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, more commonly known as C.T.E.” Many football players die from this condition.
In fact it is more likely than not that player will get injured playing sports. Players suffer sprained ankles, bruises, broken bones and concussions. It is part of the game, an unfortunate likelihood. Sports in itself is dangerous and football is amongst the top of the list in terms of danger. It is up to the parents to decide whether or not it is a risk that they are willing to take. Does a boy channel the passion he inherited from his father to a different type of sport or activity? Does a parent pull their child form the sport because of the fear of injury? The fact remains that football needs changes to make it
In America, football is no longer a sport but is engraved into our culture. According to SoftSchools.com, a website containing informative information on multiple subjects, The National Football League was established in 1920, quickly becoming the most watched sports league in the U.S. (“Football”). The league is composed of thirty-two teams, competing each year with the intent to play in the Super Bowl for a chance to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy (“Football”). The Super Bowl is the most watched television program in the U.S., averaging 113 million viewers each year (“Football”). With so many people watching this sport the annual revenue of the NFL is approximately nine billion dollars (“Football”). In contrast, baseball is considered to be the American sport, however, the annual revenue is only 7.2 billion dollars (“Football”). Football has now passed many sports in popularity in the United States being the favorite of thirty-five percent of all Americans (“Football”). The sport is appealing to many because the physical aspect to the game is exhilarating and keeps the fans entertained. However, the physical nature of the sport may cause the popularity but also can make the game dangerous.
Football is not too dangerous for children to play because the coaches are taking a lot of precautions to keep children safe.
American football has always been a part of history and culture in America, and watching American football has defined who an American is today. First, Americans have always had a love in competitive sports, and their desire to win is part of the history in America. For example, their value of western expansionism in the early 19th century was their ambition and the desire to become big and win over other countries, and the space race against the Soviet Union was a race of will and determination to become technologically advanced in space exploration at the brink of the Cold War. This
Several NFL players have stated that the game is so risky they wouldn't let their own kids play” (Shotz 11). This does not mean that kids can never play football, or that football is completely inappropriate for anyone to ever play. An alternative is playing flag football, which is much safer than tackle. If kids played this version of football they could focus on the many technical skills that they would need to play at a higher level. Examples of these skills would include running properly, lateral movements, the fundamentals of running the ball and throwing the ball. “Pop Warner, the largest youth football program in the country, experienced a 9.5 percent drop in participation between 2010 and 2012, and participation has only leveled off since then” (Strachan 2). As one can see many parents have come to their senses and taken their children out of youth football. The chance of having concussive injuries would be significantly lowered if more parents and coaches had kids aged six through 14 play flag football instead of
Football was invented in 1879 by Walter Camp; he attended Yale from 1876 to 1882 and was head advisory football coach from 1888 to 1912. Camp helped evolve the rules of the game away from rugby and soccer into the rules of American Football as they are known today. An influence to Walter Camp’s invention was William Ellis who was the first person noted for picking up the ball during a soccer game and running with it. From that point, Camp began to assess the rules of football. Football is an fairly understandable sport; one can begin learning the aspects of catching and walking with a football at around the age of two. About 25 years ago, the National football Association did not have the reputation it has today, with the continuous rise of sports television packages, the release of video games, and the invention of the internet perpetuating the regional growth across the United States, and inevitably, the world. The broadcasts began in 1939 with the first pro football game airing on television as network executives began to realize the advertisement could potentially generate substantial profits. Networks began broadcasting football once a week and it quickly became a product turning into their top income stream. By this time, football was given a huge amount of global exposure, eventually increasing with international broadcasts and internet media. ...
Football today is very dangerous for young children to play today. Injuries in the sport vary from a minor injury , like a concussion , to a major injury such as CTE , a brain disease that effects the mental and physical movements. Having said this , Young children's bodies aren't developed fully enough to take on head on contact like an old fully developed specimen. Football is so dangerous that parents have recommended that children stay away from the sport due to the kids having a higher chance of going to emergency room.
In the United States some sports are dangerous for could hurt future. Football has become a national topic of if football is really dangerous for kids today. The national football league has put much pressure on pop Warner with a lot head injuries and deaths with people who had concussions while playing. Physical play gas suffered the brain after the effect years of playing football and resulting in suicide, violence. Kids shouldn't play football it has many risk factors while playing because head injuries, promotes violence, and depends on football for future devalues education.
In stadiums, parks and fields all across America, many youth participate in a journey through defeat, heartbreak, hard work, and success. Practicing for hours, rain or shine, to be able to snag that game winning touchdown in the back of the endzone. Although football comes with many risks and dangers, I strongly believe that kids and teens should be allowed to play football because it promotes leadership, teamwork, and requires significant amounts of exercise and cardiovascular activity, and other contact sports are just as dangerous.
