Recommended: Why are students not allowed to eat in class
Why food is not allowed in class Well there are a couple of reasons why food is not allowed in class, why that is because people do not clean up after themselves and it is just a bad habit to keep doing that.Kids need to be paying attention to the teacher in class, and if they are eating not only are they more focused on that but other kids may be sitting back with their own mouths watering not paying attention either. Also Eating in class may create a mess. And Many students may be eating a candy or chips, but they usually leave it behind or they miss the trashcan and never pick it up. Most of them will spill their snack on the floor and if possible, and there might be a bug infestation. Therefore, eating in class should not be allowed.
Alought Mr davis eats food in class he should set an example for his students so they can learn from him. And I don't understand why the teachers at this school eat in the classrooms if they do not want their students eating in their classrooms.Spills and crumbs are inevitable. Spills that don't get cleaned up properly can cause serious accidents. In a classroom, spills can cause a lot of problems with papers and books. There can become many problems due to eating in class you can harm the equipment that cost a lot of money that students do not have many to fix it if they break it. Well are grade level/generation is really messed up due to the fact that we have phones that keep us from doing our work but like in the 80s they did not have phones to distract them which help them focus and do better in class. I believe that the students will do better if they are able to eat in class because it helps us focus and makes us do our work faster. And i feel that it helps us with a lot of things. I just feel so bad for the kids that have to suffer this these classrooms nowadays it is so bad the way the teachers do us now they show us the wrong way and do not give us the right answer due to the fact they always have to be right and everything has to go there way i really do not like that but i hope later on in life students can change their way so teachers can not do or treat students so bad.
Having different food can affect a child health. There are milky ways, cake, cookies, pizza and lets just add some French fries in there and call that lunch. Don’t forget the drink sweet tea, pop and milk that one doesn’t choose to drink it. The students would go back to the class rooms after twenty minutes and be hungry at the end of the da. Garland said, “Instead, we allow school cafeterias to dispense the same junk food that kids could buy in any mall” (621). There has been so much junk food and soft drinks in schools that makes the student health unsafe and a distraction to their education. Garland mentioned that the students are filling up with fat, salt and sugar rather than filling up with fruit, whole grains and vegetables. Schools should be about healthiness, and well balanced diets. With having Students eat healthy can boost up their energy and ability to learn. With that being said when I was in high school it was nothing but junk food for three years. When Michele Obama changed the law on the school lunches my senior lunches have changed. It was nothing but healthy food like whole grain, no sweets, two scoops of fruits and vegetables. At Odessa they had a school store loaded with junk food that would be sold out by forth period. When the law came to the school there was nothing but baked chip and replaced with other baked nutrition food or we had nothing at all. The drink machines were changed out
I some of you are craving gum right now! Why shouldn’t students be able to chew gum at school? I think students should be able to chew gum at school because it has been scientifically proven that gum helps students focus. Chewing gum will send more oxygen to the brain and will improve memory. It will help during tests and just overall throughout the day.
Schools are meant to give our children a healthy and nurturing environment, and yet so much of the lunches in schools are fattening; does this stop schools from achieving the aforementioned goal? Childhood obesity in the United Sates continues to be a growing problem despite so any new programs to help combat it, and new research is showing how schools may be playing a large role in childhood obesity. School lunches are showing to be the problem, they encourage poor nutrition in our nation’s students, and simple reform is proving to not be enough to stop the rise in obesity rates.
In other words, the food is not delicious and there are not many choices. Also, when children don’t get proper nutrition, they have trouble focusing on school. Most students do not buy lunch because they feel it is unappealing and do not like the food served. Many students go to other kids and ask for food. In addition, many students do not eat breakfast, so they rely on lunch to fuel them for the day.
Did you know that chewing gum can cause jaw problems which can lead to TMJ(Temporomandibular joint dysfunction).which is a really bad syndrome that causes “Pain and compromised movement of the jaw joint and the surrounding muscles”.Now that's only one reason why gum is not good for you but there is more. Here are the other the reasons why gum is bad for you ,it is an distraction, and it can cause littering.
On campus, this problem does result in leaving students hungry. They are seen scarfing down their food after arriving 10 minutes late to class, because the cafeteria was going to close for the rest of the day. Student's stomachs are heard growling, which disturbs the class when in full concentration. Hungry students then do not pay attention in class and causes a domino affect in others stomachs growling, leaving and going between classes, and other disturbances.
Why is this a problem? You may want to think that there is a simple, clear-cut line between junk food and healthy food, but as schools work to keep costs down, many corners are cut and it becomes hard to decipher what really is healthy. Confusing elements like transfat, carbohydrates, preservatives, daily percentages, and other factors only provide complications in defining healthy food. Furthermore, even if you explicitly label foods as healthy or unhealthy, hungry students are not going to consider their health as their first priority when making a quick decision of what to eat. School cafeterias, through the support of legislation, school administration, and parents, should be providing students with healthy, natural food options in contrast to the very unhealthy, processed foods that many schools currently provide.
School lunch menu should be healthy and nutritious for the students. There are several ways to fix the school lunch menu problems. In many schools, they are selling/providing junk food like chips, cookies, sugared liquids, candy, and most other snakes. Removing these junk food items from school lunch menu should be a good action that helping children make a healthy food choice.
Junk food, junk food, junk food is around all corners of schools. Chocolate, cookies, soda, potato chips, and Sour Strings may sound delectable to some people, but are they nutritious? Some people wonder if there should be a change. Encouraging exceptional nutrition in schools is essential by reasons of students will consume foods that are better for them, schools will pay less for meals, and fewer students would go hungry.
“Would You Eat Breast Milk Cheese?” (Hamm, 2010). I have shown this headline to multiple people and have received the same reaction from everyone. Most of these people I work with at a daycare. We all handle and serve breast milk on a daily basis. Also we watch mothers nurse their infants. Yet, the reaction did not surprise me, even with this comfort level with human breast milk. This reaction falls along the line of disgust and shock. One person even reacted with a sharp reply of “I DID NOT NEED TO SEE THAT!” There is something about the thought of consuming human breast milk that makes people squirm.
Widener University nutritionist Peg Abell believes that students often eat out of stress or in an effort to socialize and fit in. “Some people eat to feel better since eating can have a soothing effect,” Abell said. He also mentioned it could make people feel like they are controlling at least of part of their
Junk food in schools are mostly sugary snacks that have little to no nutrition whatsoever. The real foods kids need to be eating is fruits, and vegetables in the meals they naturally get. The children also need time, in order to actually eat the foods they get, not hurry and buy junk food as a substitute for something that will give them energy. If they had the time, then the kids who struggle to finish their lunches that have been packed, will most likely take time and actually enjoy their meal and eat. Not all students in the cafeteria are able to have a well-packed lunch, so they would
Why is this a problem? Cafeteria food is often cheap, bought in bulk, high in calories, malnutritious, and microwaved. Student polls and opinions prove this. Therefore, this leads to a suggestion: Healthier, tastier foods and a better, more advanced lunch system should be implemented. First of all, students aren’t motivated to eat unhealthy, not-tasty food.
Ban Junk Food Junk food. Is it the responsibility of schools to ban junk food and promote a healthy lifestyle for children of all ages between 6-18? Yes, yes it is. In my opinion, schools promoting a healthy lifestyle is as important as the children’s parents’ responsibility. Schools have as much impact in that department as children are fed during school hours.
When one goes away to college, their life changes dramatically. They are forced to make changes in their own lives in order to adapt to college life. When one is in high school and living at home, their eating habits and personal hygiene practices are for the most part controlled by their parents. They are told what to eat and when to eat it. They are told to keep their room clean and to take their vitamins, etc. When one moves away to college, they are on their own. There is no one telling them to clean their room, or to do laundry or what they have to eat. In some colleges and universities, it is required that freshmen live on campus and eat at least two meals a day in the dining hall. This isn't necessarily for the university to monitor a student's eating habits but rather to get the student acquainted with the campus and other people living there. Food served in college dining halls has not been known for it's nutritional value. However, over the past couple of years college chefs have been working to change that. While a lot of students have committed to eating the healthier foods and trying to stay healthy, the vast majority lives on pizza and taco bell or any other cheap fast food chain that is open until the late hours of the night. College is a fast paced environment and fast food caters to college students. In this fast paced environment, students more often than not neglect their health and personal hygiene and the consequences range from obesity to deadly eating disorders.
