Daisy is rich and driven by money, she grew up rich and money shapes her character. Gatsby is in love with Daisy and always has been, he’d do anything for her and even went to great lengths to build a mansion for her, which shows Daisy is driven by finer things in life. Daisy is a flirtatious, manipulative girl who lead Gatsby on, he was her first love. While Gatsby is in love with Daisy for all instances, he wants to be an important man to her.
